Attention All Students, a message from the Supervision Office. The last two parking rows closest to the football/track field will be closed after lunch this Friday, December 1st. If you park there in the morning, be prepared to move your car during student lunch time.

Are you interested in the legislative process or maybe a career in politics? Would you enjoy meeting with policy makers and advocating for issues to public education in California? Huntington Union Council PTA is looking for interested Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to participate in its Student Advocacy Program. The goal of the program is to promote the collaboration and engagement of high school students and policymakers in decisions affecting K-12 education. The program will prepare students for “real world” advocacy experience in the public sector. The 4-week program will begin in February 2018. There will be an informational meeting Wednesday, December 6th in the library at lunchtime to discuss the program and the application process. The application deadline is January 5, 2018.

Are you interested in playing Tennis this Spring on the Boy’s Tennis Team? Tryouts will be next week on December 6th. There is a MANDATORY meeting TODAY at 12:20 during lunch in room 118 for anyone interested in trying out. All interested athletes, including Freshman, Winter sport athletes and returning players must attend this meeting TODAY AT LUNCH! You will not be able to tryout if you do not attend this meeting. If you cannot attend, or have any questions, go see Coach Lemons in room 118.

Diner tonight from 4:00-close. Bring in a flyer and present it to your server and the band and color guard receives 20% of the proceeds. Chargers, we are having our first College Knowledge Night next Wednesday, December 6th from 6-8pm in the Edison Cafeteria. This is open to all students and their parents. There will be representatives from: Cal State, UC, Community College and a private

University. Topics to be discussed will be: admissions, choosing at college and/or major, paying for college and other topics. There will be also time allowed for questions. It is that time of year when we start to really think of others. Well, Edison Boys Basketball is collecting toys for the children of CHOC hospital. Please help by bringing in a new, unwrapped toy valued for at least $20 to Coach Boyce’s office in the
administration building. Let’s all help to bring a smile to the faces of the sick children at CHOC this Christmas. •
