Logos & Business Cards The Engagement Never Ends!
Let’s imagine and then sculpt
ARR® P O R T F O L I O
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Tips: Logos & Business Cards Logos 1) Keep your logo simple. It needs to adhere to the rule of transferability. In essence, you must be able to easily break it apart and put it back together again. You cannot do this with a regular photograph. 2)
Stick to a few colors. Printing charges are also based on the number of colors
3)
Have two logo designs that you use in you business.
4)
Make sure you have a logo kit that has your logo in a PSD or Vector file format. You should also have it in PNG transparent background and JPEG file format. Your kit should have both a print and web version of your logo.
5)
Store you logo in your email client (account) as a draft message or in an online storage where you can easily access and share it.
Business Cards 1) Gone are the days when we print on only one side of the business card to save money or to allow someone the opportunity to write notes on the back. Business cards are hardly stored. People take a picture of it on their smart phone. They may even share it online! 2)
If you are printing on expensive paper, add value to the card so that the holder with keep it. Example, associate your card with a discount, premium access to you, or any bonus privilege when the card presented
3)
This brings me to my last and final point, be short and sweet about your services and put a QR code on the back. A QR code allows persons with a smart phone to scan information from your card into her phone – similar to a barcode. Research QR Code online.
Booklets & E-books The Engagement Never Ends! Product Brochure, Sponsorship Kit, Magazine
Design is Functional
Design is Meaningful
Good Design tells a story
Tips: E-books 1)
Your E-book could be 8 pages long. Shorter and that’s a e-brochure.
2)
E-book should focus on teaching a customer something new. If you are selling your services in it then it becomes an e-brochure.
3)
Select a topic you like and research it online. Someone else may have published a similar book. Maybe you can get some ideas about your content.
4)
You can use PowerPoint or Microsoft office to create your e-book.
5)
The nicer your cover and headlines the more downloads you get.
6)
Get help editing the content.
Ads, Flyer, Posters, Tickets The Engagement Never Ends! Events, Concerts, Parties & Promotions
Design has relevance
Good design pulls people
Good design invokes emotion
Design is memorable
Tips: Flyers & Posters 1)
Good branding makes customers pay you more without a question. Good branding adds value to your business. You will not achieve good branding if you try to do it yourself with Microsoft word.
2)
Be consistent with a good standard not a poor one!
3)
Your design should change based on the customer you are targeting. Example: do not have a summer theme flyer for a party that’’s clearly in winter.
4)
The font choice is extremely important in designing you flyer. Use a maximum of 3 fonts
5)
Think about how you read then design you poster to follow that top-down, leftright structure. People don’t have time to be searching!
6)
You need: Who, What, Where, When, How Much, and Because to make a poster or flyer.
7)
Post your posters and flyers on your website along with 150 words describing the event. Then post it on your social media sites.

Tips: Websites 1)
You must have a plan before you build a website. Complete my website planner
2)
A website is a tool not a business! It will not make you rich and it takes a lot of work.
3)
You must have a website if you have a business regardless of whether or not you will be using all the bells and whistles that comes with owning a website.
4)
Do not complain if your family member or friend forgot that the old and disabled people uses your website. Do not complain if customers are having a serious problem buying your products or services online. A trained website designer understands the concept of usability.
5)
Websites should be mobile ready. Most small business websites are still behind.
6)
Update and monitor your site or hire someone to do it for you. Otherwise, you risk loosing information and customers.
7)
Always be thinking: How can I improve my business operations by using my website. Can I add a FAQ, can I focus all my billing online, can I focus on customer service etc.
