Spring Conferences are This Week! Conference time is a wonderful opportunity for families to hear about their child’s progress during this school year. Conferences are this Thursday, 3:30-7:30; and Friday, 7:30-7:30. If you have not signed up for conferences yet, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office. (Students will not have school on April 13 and April 16.)

Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment & Orientation Kindergarten Orientation will be on Tuesday, May 1, 6:00 p.m. in the library at Takena. This orientation is for students who will be attending kindergarten next school year (2018-19). Please pass this information along to your friends and neighbors if they have a child who will be in kindergarten next year. Children must be 5 years of age, on or before September 1, to enroll in kindergarten. Please see attached flyer for more information. 5th Grade Promotion Mark your calendars now… this year’s promotion ceremony will be Tuesday, June 12, 1:00-2:00 pm, at Central Elementary.

5th Grade Overnight Field Trip The 5th graders are planning an overnight field trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, May 2526. There was a parent info night on March 21. If you missed the meeting, please contact the teacher for information. Fred Meyer Community Rewards This is a great opportunity to help earn money for our school. Please see the flyer on our website for additional information. (Choose the Parents & Students button, PTA button, then the Fred Meyer community rewards icon) Music Concert at Takena Due to our music teacher having to leave in the middle of the year, we had to cancel our scheduled music program. And since our interim teacher, Mrs. Brudvig, is new to our students and staff, we decided we would not ask her to do a music program this school Get Connected… year for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students. However; the teachers at Takena Teacher email: [email protected] have decided they would like to put on a program for each grade level. Tuesday May 1 Kindergarten Orientation & Enrollment is Tuesday, May 1. Children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2018 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten at the school in their boundary area. During orientation & enrollment, you will learn about kindergarten, online registration, and pick up an enrollment packet. Enrollment forms are due back to the school by May 15, 2018.
