Dr. Ramesh Kar will present an overview of how materials failure analysis investigations are performed on engineered products. His presentation will include case histories of several components that he has been examined including jet engine turbine blades, pressure vessels, and industrial and consumer components. Dr. Kar is President, Kars’ Advanced Materials, Inc. He holds a B.S. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology; and Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley in Materials Science & Engineering. He is an elected Fellow of ASM International; and has served on several local and national committees of ASM International.
