Brendel      PTO      Meeting      Minutes       August      9,      2016   4:30      PM     Attendance:        Renee      Madison      (Co-­President),      Karen      Mitchell      (Co-­President),      Tiffany      Heisey   (Vice      President),      Joe      Tuscher      (Co-­Treasurer),      Danette      Tuscher      (Co-­Treasurer),      Lorri      Melynchek   (Co-­Secretary/Teacher      Rep.),      Tiffany      Stevenson      (Co-­Secretary),      Sonya      Mack      (Co-­Volunteer   Coordinator),      Kerry      Applegate      (Co-­Volunteer      Coordinator/Teacher      Rep.),      Doris      Goetz      (Building   Principal)     Motion      was      made      Renee      Madison      to      remove      Andrea      Theisen      from      the      office      of      co-­secretary.   Vote      was      taken,      vote      unanimous.      Renee      and      Sonya      will      be      reaching      out      to      Andrea      to      see      if   there      is      another      volunteer      opportunity      within      the      PTO      that      would      better      meet      the      needs      of      her   schedule.       Motion      was      made      by      Renee      Madison      to      install      Tiffany      Stevenson      as      co-­secretary.      Vote      was   taken,      vote      unanimous.       Google      Account   Kerry      will      set-­up      email      group      using      a      Google      account      to      house      all      PTO      documents      for      the      PTO   Board.     Budget-­Joe      and      Danette      Tuscher   Box      Tops      reduced      down      to      $1200   Popcorn      down      to      $1500   Cut      line      items      -­PAWS      program      and      Bench     PTO      will      give      $100      to      each      classroom,      SAR      and      specials      teachers.      Special      Education      teachers   (Kiersten      Eickholt      and      Ali      Raymond)      will      share      $100.      Librarian      (Mrs.      Martin)      can      propose      a   project      to      the      PTO      she      would      like      to      be      sponsored      for      a      $100      grant.     Memorial      Bench   Doris      will      talk      to      JP      in      regards      to      mounting      the      plaque      onto      the      memorial      bench       Dash      and      Bash   Kerry      will      be      inquiring      with      J.P.      Adams      in      regards      to      our      desire      to      use      the      district’s      facilities      at      the   high      school      football      field      for      Brendel’s      annual      Dash      and      Bash      fundraiser.       Discussion      was      held      regarding      having      a      t-­shirt      for      students/parents      who      participate      in      the   Dash/Bash.      It      was      decided      that      this      can      be      considered      by      the      Dash      and      Bash      committee.    

Volunteer      message      will      be      posted      on      Facebook      requesting      help      for      Dash      and      Bash     Calendar   Calendar      was      reviewed      and      approved.     Welcome      Back      Picnic   Welcome      Back      Picnic      will      be      held      8/31/16      from      5:30-­7:30.      Food      will      be      in      the      outdoor      courtyard   and      will      be      catered      by      the      district’s      food      service      department.       Kerry      discussed      having      Chromebooks      out      and      available      for      parents      to      easily      sign-­up      for      the   PTO      directory      and      volunteer      form.     Kids      will      make      signs      for      PTO      sign-­up      which      will      include      QR      codes      and      incentives      (raffle)      for   parents      who      do      sign-­up.      Sign-­up      is      for      Volunteer      form,      Student      Directory,      Shop-­A-­Roo      (Kroger)     Doris      shared      an      idea      for      families      to      have      a      punch      card      that      they      will      complete      in      order      to      enter   into      the      raffle      at      the      picnic      to      ensure      families      visit      all      of      the      sign-­up      stations.       Spiritwear-­Tiffany      Heisey     Voted      to      have      Brendel      Bulldog      logo      on-­hand      during      picnic      for      sale     Sample      sizes      will      also      be      available      at      picnic      for      families      to      look      at.      Order      forms      will      also      be   available      for      those      who      would      like      one.     Spiritwear      orders      will      be      due      9/16      to      ensure      they      are      back      in      time      for      Homecoming.     Principal   Popsicles      with      Principal      is      cancelled      due      to      building      construction     Mrs.      Goetz      is      requesting      a      master      gardener      and      budget      to      help      with      the      remodeling      of      the   interior      courtyard.      The      is      to      make      it      more      effective      for      student      use      and      instruction.     Opening      Day      Packets   Board      and      volunteers      are      needed      August      18th/19th      to      help      Ms.      Shelden      with      opening      day   packets.     Homecoming      Parade   Yanchow      (sp?)      has      volunteered      to      supply      us      with      a      wagon,      decorations      and      bulldog      for      the   Homecoming      parade.      Kerry      will      compose      and      print      a      parent      letter      to      go      home      to      students.     Meeting      ended      6:45      PM
