Education Completed B.Sc.(Agri.) in – 1980; Post Graduate in Agriculture in Agronomy during 1982 and Ph.D in Agriculture with Specialization in Agronomy in 1996 from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore – Tamil Nadu, India. Research and Professional Experience – Total Service : 32 years Professional Experience: Served as Assistant Professor for 13 years; Associate Professor for 4 years and as Professor for 12 years in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. Presently working as Director, WTC, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Nodal Officer, Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization and Water Bodies Restoration and Management Project (TNIAMWARM) World Bank funded Project. Technologies Developed 1. Developed and standardized technologies for System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in paddy 2. Developed technologies for Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative (SSI) in Sugarcane 3. Standardized drip fertigation schedule for hybrid maize 4. Technology for the cultivation of sweet Pepper and Paprika cultivars under shade net in Tropical plains of Tamil Nadu (Technology Released 2007) 5. Released implement “Manually operated line Marker” for pulses and oilseeds (2012) 6. Initiated research on Regulated Deficit Irrigation (RDI) in Micro Irrigation 7. Developed and released 3 sugarcane varieties COC 90063 (1990), COC 91061 (1991) and COC 86249 (1998) - popular in 27 sugar mills of Tamil Nadu during that period
8. Developed alternate land use system – Silvipasture (Albizzia lebbeck + Cencrus and stylo) for sustaining wasteland of alfisol. RESEARCH GRANTS Efficiently operated 33 projects (11 ongoing) funded by World Bank, ICAR, New Delhi, Govt. of India, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, National, International and Private Agencies with productively rewarding results.
