Anita Singhal I am working as Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur, Rajasthan. I started teaching at this institute from the post of Senior Demonstrator in 1996. I did my MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi and my MD (Microbiology) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. I am member of various organizations like Indian Association of Medical Microbiology, Hospital Infection Society, Indian Medical Association and the Academy of Clinical Microbiologists. I have done basic course workshop in medical education technologies by the MEU of our institute in collaboration with Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad and am doing Diploma in Hospital Management from NIHFW, Delhi. Both of these trainings ignited in me the need to shift from the conventional lecture delivery system to a more interactive platform to aid the holistic development of the student as the future Physician. I also felt the need for integration of clinical application and microbiology based on which I have formulated my project work. Through FAIMER, I have got the opportunity to develop my skills towards the achievement of this goal. I am a member of the Research Review Board of my institute and the member secretary of the Institutional committee for Stem Cell Research and am actively involved in various research work and activities of the students. I have research publications in various international and national journals.I look forward to this new chapter in medical education and am sure FAIMER will be useful in shaping my personality both as an educator and service provider and in the long run will empower and prepare me to efficiently play the role of a medical teacher.

I also love making documentaries on National issues and till now I have made 3 audiovisuals for Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, PvPI under aegis of Ministry of Health & Family welfare. Being in field of Pharmacology teaching since 1998 , I have faced many challenges and adversities while undertaking educational reforms. My areas of interest are mainly innovations in medical education. I have presented, and published papers and posters at state , national and international level. Humbly I wish to share that I am recipient of awards for various presentations at National as well as state level. I have also authored an educational memoir by the name of ‘Just U n Me’ in year 2013, which is a candid and lucid narration of moments of academic bliss spent between teacher and MBBS students of Batch 2009, to make Pharmacology learning de-stressful and an enjoyable experience.

I am working as Associate Professor, Biochemistry in Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University (Central Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family welfare). I did my under graduation (2001), post graduation (2005) and senior residency (2008) from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. During my senior residency, I did my DNB (2008) in Biochemistry from

National Board of Examinations. My key areas of interest are laboratory medicine, clinical research and teaching young professionals. I have more than 50 publications in various national and international indexed journals. I am a member of various organizations like National Academy of Medical Sciences, IMSA, Indian Immunological Society, Indian Association of Medical Biochemists, Indian Association of Clinical Biochemists, Indian Association of Cancer Research and Indian Academy of Bio-Medical Sciences. I am an active member of many sub-committees, working for betterment of Undergraduate and post graduate teaching at my institution. I am also a member of DRC, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Delhi University. I have done National Teachers Training course for Medical Teachers on Medical Education Technology in 2011.

Eswara Uma. I am presently working in Faculty of dentistry, Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC), Melaka, Malaysia, as Professor and Head department of Pedodontics. I have graduated from Government Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad, in 1993 and subsequently did my post-graduation in Pedodontics and preventive dentistry from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in 1997. Since then I have been working in various dental colleges in Bangalore both as an undergraduate as well as a post graduate teacher. I have also practised pediatric dentistry in Dubai for a period of two years. Before moving to Malaysia I was practising pediatric dentistry in Manipal Hospitals Bangalore. Being an academician I have been involved in research projects, while at a clinical level I have been actively involved in hospital based dentistry concentrating mainly on taking care of dental needs of infants and children with special health needs. After coming to MMMC I have been exposed to several workshops related to medical education and have been fascinated by the various methods of teaching and assessment that are being used in medical education today. My husband is a business director with a leading advertising agency in Malaysia and I have two teenaged children. Reading and listening to music is my favourite pass time. I am working in Department of Ophthalmology, Maulana Azad Medical College, NewDelhi as a Dir. Professor since 1997. I graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi in 1985 with 5 distinctions, 3 gold medals and 7 prizes. My post graduation and senior residency was from All India Institute of Medical Sciences from 1987- 1993 during which time I also obtained my DNB degree (1992). Subsequently I did a research fellowship in glaucoma super specialty, at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA in 1996. I joined as teaching faculty in 1997 at JIPMER, Pondicherry from where I was transferred to my current institution. I received All India Ophthalmic Society “Young Ophthalmologist Scholarship” 1999 and was awarded Commonwealth Scholarship in 2000, at Moorfield Eye Hospital, London where I obtained my FRCS (E) degree. I am a diploma holder in Hospital Management from NIHFW. During my tenure as faculty I started the Low vision clinic in our centre after obtaining training during a WHO Scholarship in 2008-9 at Aravind Eye Centre, Madurai, India. In addition to teaching undergraduate, postgraduate in my subject I have been involved in teaching other aspects as faculty in Clinical Epidemiological Unit, Occupational and Environmental Health Unit, Medical Education Department and Clinical skills lab of my institution. The skill lab courses designed and conducted by me, in my specialty have been successfully running since 2013. Teaching has been my passion and I have conducted many CME’s and Instruction courses at state, national and international level and delivered over 350 educational lectures. Medical College, Mauritius, and also acting as Principal in-charge of the respective Institute. I received my M.B.B.S. degree from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab), India, in year 1984, and M.D. (Biochemistry) degree from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot (Punjab), India in year 2002. Prior to joining S.S.R. Medical College, I worked as a clinician with Ministry of Health and Education, Iran; Directorate of Health Services, and Directorate of Research and Medical Education, Punjab, India. Rajiv Mahajan I am Professor, Pharmacology, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda (Punjab). I did my graduation from Government Medical College Amritsar and post graduation from Government Medical College Patiala. I am an active member of Institutional MEU from the time of its inception and now working as its Joint-Coordinator. Having attended Basic Course Workshop and Coordinator’s Training at CMC Ludhiana, left me with more queries than answers. My subsequent appointment as Dean (Academics) of the Institute ignited the flame of searching for the new tools & technologies in medical education more; for my own benefit, for the benefit of the Institute and my students and for man mind at large. In the meantime I did my Diploma in Clinical Research, and with the help of like minded colleagues founded Basic Medical Scientists Association. Today this association is running two journals; pubmed indexed ‘International JoI am currently working as Professor & Head, Department of urnal of Applied and Basic Medical Research’ and ‘Journal of Research in Medical Education and Ethics’, a journal dedicated to medical education, with me being Chief Editor of both. I myself have 60 publications to my credit with 200 citations. I authored two chapters for a PG book on clinical research, and also working as Dean (PG Studies & Research) of Adesh University. The growing craving for learning in medical education field motivated me to join for Fellowship in Medical Education in the very first batch at CMC Ludhiana, and subsequently I was inducted as adjunct faculty for the same at the entry-time of third batch at CMC Ludhiana. Sahiba Kukreja I am working as Prof and Head in the Department of Biochemistry, SGRDIMSAR, Amritsar, from the past 2 years with a total of 12 years work experience in same Department. I did my graduation from GMC, Amritsar in 1997 and post graduation from the same college in 2002. I was a part of the MEU of my institute since 2011 and presently I am the coordinator of Medical Education Unit of the institute from Dec 2014. I have also been in-charge of clinical biochemistry lab from March 2010. Shaista Saiyad I am currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Physiology at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad. I completed my MBBS from Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad and post graduation from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. I have 15 years of teaching experience and have been involved in teaching one of the basic sciences: Physiology to MD, MBBS, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Optometry students. I am currently pursuing Ph.D. (Medical Physiology) at Gujarat University. I had the privilege of joining Medical Education Unit of our college in 2010. Since then, there has been no looking back and I have been

working as resource faculty of Nodal as well as Regional Training Center of Medical Education Unit of our college. Being faculty in MEU helped me in honing additional supplementary knowledge, attitude and skills apart from my own subject expertise. I have also worked in capacity of MCI observer of Basic Course Workshop in Medical Education in other medical colleges. I joined Fellowship in Medical Education (FIME) at CMC, Ludhiana. While pursuing FIME, I was amazed by the potential of adult and peer learning and decided to go for FAIMER. With support of our Dean, MEU and colleagues, I have successfully tried to use KSA’s acquired through medical education among undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical students. I am keen to learn and implement more innovations in teaching-learning, assessment, leadership as well as administrative skills which can help me to shape future health care professionals.

Sushant Kumar Mishra An Epidemiologist by profession, I am currently heading the Department of Community Medicine at GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh). I Graduated from SCB Medical College, Cuttack in the year 1995 and completed my post-graduation in Community Medicine from VSS Medical, Burla in the year 2000. I started my career as an Insurance Medical Officer at ESI hospital, Bhubaneswar and later preferred a teaching profession. Worked as a lecturer in Community Medicine at VSS Medical College (Burla), assistant professor at CIMS (Bilaspur) and associate professor later professor at GSL Medical College (Rajahmundry). In addition to my departmental responsibilities, I am also heading the Medical Education Unit of my institute and organized a state level medical education conference in Andhra Pradesh in the year 2014. I have many publications in National journals to my credit and I am also a reviewer of reputed national journals. I am presently Life Member of many prestigious associations such as IMA, IAPSM, IPHA, APCRI & IEA. Chaired scientific sessions at various national level conferences and organized a state level joint conference IAPSM & IPHA for undivided AP in the year 2013, I have completed successfully my fellowship in “Public Health Field Leader” in the year 2008 which was sponsored by CDC (Atlanta). As an epidemiologist, I have worked mainly in the field of HIV/AIDS and contributed establishing Community Care Centres in high HIV prevalent areas of East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from my subject I am also interested in Research methodology and I have organized several such workshops as main resource person. In my personal life I am married to Dr. Anindita, a Radiologist by profession and blessed with two daughters Shreya & Akanksha. Vandana Roy Having completed MBBS, MD (Pharmacology) and PhD (Pharmacology) from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), University of Delhi, I joined my alma mater as a faculty member in 1999, where I am presently Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology since 2014. As an elected member for two terms to the Academic Council of University of Delhi, I was able to work for examination reforms for MBBS examinations as well as revision of medical curricula. So as to give our students a holistic education, a week long cultural festival was initiated in collaboration with SPICMACAY. In this festival renowned artists from the Classical and folk arts perform and interact with the students, who get a novel experience that enhance their soft skills and further their educational development. As Chairman of this Committee, we have been doing this

since 2005.Improving access to and rational use of medicines, is another commitment, for which I have been working, both at the National and Delhi State level since 1994. This includes contributing to the preparation of National Essential Medicines List (EML) 2015, Delhi State EML, Standard Treatment Guidelines and Formulary. Have been the Member Secretary of the Committee for Preparation of Essential Medicines List 2013, Delhi and a Member of the Special Purchase Committee for procurement of Essential Medicines for all public health facilities under Government of Delhi, besides being a resource person for formulation of the New Drug Policy for Delhi. My publications (61 in 2015) and research interests include clinical pharmacology, anti-tuberculosis drugs, improving access to and rational use of medicines and teaching and evaluation of medical education. I have served on various Committees of Government of India, Government of Delhi, Medical Council of India, Central Drugs Standards Control Organization, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, University of Delhi and within MAMC. In 2014 received the Distinguished Teachers Award from MAMCOS. Am a member of several professional organizations and peer reviewer for scientific journals. Other interests are traveling to places of historical interest and wilderness, reading, painting, listening to music and performing arts. My husband is a practicing Cardiologist. I have a daughter, who is presently studying Sociology and is a Kathak dancer. My son is in school, an avid swimmer, tabla player and robotics enthusiast.
