GREENWOOD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 52 Minutes for Regular Monthly Meeting Board of Trustees 121 S. Cambridge Street Greenwood County, Ninety Six, South Carolina September 12, 2016 6:30 P.M. PRESENT: Mr. Ronnie Peeler Mr. Dayne Pruitt Mr. Paul Cobb Mrs. Deborah Bolton Mr. Rickey Werts NOTICE TO MEDIA: The Index Journal and GwdToday were notified of the time, date, place and agenda of the meeting. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Paul Cobb followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. AFFIRMATION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, seconded by Mr. Ronnie Peeler, to affirm the agenda with the addition of two overnight field trip requests . All were in favor. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Mr. Ronnie Peeler, seconded by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, to approve the minutes of the August 9, 2016 meeting as presented. All were in favor. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: A copy of the monthly Parenting Program report was given to board members as information. A copy of the approved fundraisers, one day field trips, and professional meeting request was given to board members for review. A motion was made by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, seconded by Mr. Rickey Werts, to approve the band request for February 24 – 25 and March 10 – 12, 2017 overnight request (All

Page 2 Board Minutes September 12, 2016 Region Clinic and All State Clinic – Lexington High School and Furman University). All were in favor. AdvancED Update: The AdvancED visit for accreditation is set for the first week of April 2017. Ms. Cathy Anderson has taken the lead on coordinating all items. The district has been able to secure a Mental Health Counselor through Beckman. The new Counselor will begin October 3rd. Superintendent Search: Dr. Wall encouraged the board to begin the search for Superintendent. She also asked the board to consider qualified candidates within the district for the position. Mr. Pruitt will arrange a meeting with the SC School Boards Association to receive information on the superintendent search process. OPERATIONS, MR. WALLY HALL, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR OPERATIONS: Mr. Hall provided information on the day to day operations of the District. INSTRUCTION/PERSONNEL, MRS. RHONDA MCDOWELL, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR INSTRUCTION PERSONNEL: No items for discussion at this meeting. FINANCE, MR. WALLY HALL: Financials Update A review of the general fund revenues and year to date expenditures for the school year was presented. EXECUTIVE SESSION: A motion was made by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, seconded by Mr. Ronnie Peeler, to enter into executive session for legal updates. All were in favor. GENERAL SESSION: A motion was made by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, seconded by Mr. Dayne Pruitt, to enter into general session. All were in favor. No action was taken in executive session. There being no further items for discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Rickey Werts, seconded by Mrs. Deborah Bolton, to adjourn. All were in favor. Meeting adjourned 8:20 pm.
