Jeff welcomed everyone. RECOGNITION OF STATE QUALIFIERS AND CHAMPIONS FROM SPRING KHS Students that qualified for state events from KHS in the spring of 2017 were invited to and recognized at the board meeting and given a giant congratulatory cookie from the board. Unfortunately, none of the student athletes from Kingman High were able to attend. Norwich athletes will be recognized in October when the board meeting is held in Norwich. FACILITIES Kelly McMurphy and Christian Knipp updated the board on some personnel changes that have occurred at Knipp Services. They shared some options for HVAC as well as some information on building materials as they try to reduce costs of a possible bond project. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS Administrators provided written reports to the board. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT Dr. Bob Diepenbrock, superintendent, presented information on the following: • Overtime update was given • HVAC proposals for replacing units at Norwich • Updates on KSDE Gemini project and KESA • Professional learning updates • Shared new Cooperative agreement for football with KHS and Cunningham HS with request to extend for two more years. • Request to charter a motor coach for KHS football game at Hugoton and share expenses with booster club. District will pay up to $603.00 towards the cost. • Students from KHS were selected to march in an honor band at K-State
EXECUTIVE SESSION Andrea Shipley moved, seconded by David Lux to go into executive session to discuss potential changes in the contract with a business firm with KASB Legal Counsel via telephone which would be deemed privileged in the attorney-client relationship exception under KOMA. The superintendent will be invited to join and we will return at 8:25 p.m. (10 minutes) after a 5-minute break.
