Clean and Green: Plant Giveaway
Saturday June 8th at 3736 Chicago Ave S from 10 am to 5 PM Saturday June 15th at 3736 Chicago Ave S from 12 to 3 PM Planting in Boulevards and Alleyways helps to deter litter and prevent graffiti. CANDO will be giving away plants for both boulevards and alleys, as well as vertical garden kits to hang on your garage. Also, we are able to give away some plants for your personal veggie gardens this year thank to volunteers and the kids at Green Central School who started them from seed! Stop by and pick out a few addtions for your gardens. Plants and kits are given away on a first come first serve basis. You are Central and Central "CAN DO" Clean and Green!

38th and Chicago Action Planning Report As many of you have heard the community, City of Minneapolis and Minneapolis Police Department have partnered to make a plan for a safe and vibrant intersection at 38th Street and Chicago Ave. After our initial meeting we saw a need to continue meeting monthly to engage the community in not only the plan itself, but it's implementation. We have scheduled regular meetings on the forth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM. One Minneapolis Mayoral Forum Mayoral hopefuls speak to young people of color on their plans to undo racial injustice over the next 4 years. Sabathani Community Center (310 East 38th Street. Minneapolis, MN 55409) Thursday, June 6th 6pm A coalition of young voters will gather at Sabathani Community Center on Thursday, June 6th at 6:00pm to hear from candidates in the 2013 Minneapolis Mayoral Election. In one generation, the majority of Minneapolis residents will be people of color; yet today, the city has one of the worst racial inequities in the country. This community forum will give the candidates an opportunity to share their solutions with the youth who are being impacted the most.
