The snow is finally gone and Central could use a little tender love and care. Join neighbors and friends to clean up our great neighborhood! To participate fill out this form and email it to

Yard Waste: Remove or Reuse? It's Spring again, or should we say finally! As Central neighbors clean up their yards in preparation for summer gardens and lawn parties we find ourselves buried in yard waste. Here are a few options for getting rid of your yard waste or even reusing yard waste to your advantage! Composting: Composting converts our garbage into soil, cutting out yard waste, food scraps and more from your trash output. Remember not to compost bones, dairy, meat, dog/cat feces or plastics. Learn more about composting, including"how to" start here! City Removal of Yard Waste: The City of Minneapolis will remove your yard waste, but you must follow the guidelines Remember to bag your yard waste in compostable bags or bundle it. June 8th on 38th Street and Chicago Avenue Mark your calendars for June 8th,2013! Start your morning by cleaning up the intersection with the 38th and Chicago Business Association at 10 AM, then enjoy music, food, art and community all day from the Business Association and Arts on Chicago! Finally stop in at the CANDO Community Space between 3 and 5 PM to grab some free plants for your boulevard, alley or vegetable garden!
