Clinics Welcome New Patients (March 27, 2018) The Sublette County Rural Health Care District provides accessible, progressive, patient-focused care to the thousands of patients seen each year. The District has three Medical Doctors, two Family Nurse Practitioners and two Physician Assistants as primary care providers. 7,000 patients access our providers as well as our ancillary services. In addition to providing primary care, both clinics are set up for patients with urgent needs who may be seen on a same-day basis during the week. “A majority of the community appreciate and value the health care provided by our clinics and EMS. Just recently, our clinical care services ranked top in Wyoming by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute’s 2018 County Health Rankings,” District Trustee Laura Clark said. “We would like to see patients continue to turn to our clinics rather than seeking primary care services elsewhere; we plan to take every opportunity to welcome new patients.” Practice Manager, Amanda Key, wants residents to know the District is always accepting new patients and will also help in acquiring past medical records. “The clinics are busy places and providers, nurses, and staff have a lot to be proud of. Many of the new patients seen here, including elderly people, people with disabilities and families with young children, would have had difficulty accessing healthcare if they had to go out of area to be seen.”
New patients, those who have not visited either clinic for a period of three or more years, are invited to establish primary care with the Sublette County Rural Health Care District. Director of Patient Accounts, Kelli Lovell, who joined the District in 2007 and works on new patient accounts shares, “When establishing care at the District, it is important for our providers to get to know you and your health status, along with many additional needed caveats provided by our nursing, office, and ancillary staff for new patients. A visit with a provider and our staff will ultimately help him or her in their medical decision-making regarding how to best treat or provide recommendations to you.” There are five different levels of service for a new patient in which the service cost ranges between $90 - $415. The most common charge for a new patient encounter is currently $151. There are different services provided to a patient based on national healthcare standards. If patients haven’t been seen in three or more years at either clinic, patients will be “treated like a new patient” described by high standards, exceptional care, and an elevated detail for concern. Lovell continues, “No provider-to-patient charge is a flat fee. In fact, it is not uncommon for a new patient charge to be less expensive than an established patient charge, but this depends on the circumstances surrounding the visit. Our department closely follows CPT national standard changes and works through these with payers, new patients, and staff.” In recognition of Sublette County's health care ranking of #2 in the state of Wyoming, patients who visit either clinic for an annual exam January 1 through May 30 will get a chance to win one of three Fitbit Charge 2s - the popular new heart rate and fitness wristband that tracks heart activity, exercise, and sleep. Patients can schedule an appointment by calling Marbleton~Big Piney Medical Clinic at 307.276.3306 or the Pinedale Medical Clinic at 307.367.4133. Clinic hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. ####
