How to Register your New Kindergartner (All registrations must be submitted in person) Kindergarten Registration for the 2018-2019 School Year Kindergarten Enrollment is for children who will be five (5) years of age by August 31, 2018. Where: Parent Information Center located in the main lobby at Medford High School (489 Winthrop Street) When: Begins March 5th Office Hours 7:00-3:00 April Vacation Tues & Wed April 17th & 18th 8:00-12:00 Extended Hours: Wed. March 7th 3:00-6:30 & Tues. April 10th 3:00-6:30

Registration Forms (can be downloaded) Proof of Residency a. 2 current utility bills, water bill, mortgage statement or lease in Parent or Legal Guardian’s name or b. Notarized Residency Affidavit and 2 current utility bills from the person you are living with. Homeowner must also sign the affidavit. 3. Student’s Birth Certificate 4. Student’s Immunization Record, physical within 1 year and vision screening. All incoming kindergarten students must be medically cleared before the start of school. 5. Photo Identification of Parent or Legal Guardian. Legal Guardians will have to provide a Caregiver Authorization Affidavit. (Available at the Parent Center) 6. Individual Educational Plan (IEP) if coming from another school district.
What Time do we Start and End our school days? Wednesdays are ALWAYS an early release day 1:30 dismissal –(unless other wise noted) Monday ~Tuesday ~Thursday~ Friday we start the day at 8:30-late bell 8:40-a.m. Dismissal is at ~ 2:35 p.m. ***The First Day of School For Kindergarteners is Wednesday September 5, 2018***

Medford Public Schools Before-School Program Please bring completed registration form to the Assistant Superintendent’s office at Medford High School. Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday The Medford Public Schools’ Before-School Program is available to assist working parents & guardians with early drop off for students in grades K-5 at the four elementary schools.
The program runs from 7:30 AM until the start of the school day.

Kindergarten Open House : At your District School *** Wed. May 9th, 2018 2:00 p.m.-3:00p.m*** ● Parent/Child introduction to the different Kindergarten Classrooms and school. ● Receiving of Kindergarten Bags-items that help support at home activities Kindergarten Bridging Form: ● Available at Medford Public Preschools or Home to School form available at the Early Childhood Office
Summer Time Playgroups: ● Each school will plan usually in the park or at school. Kindergarten Playground Night: ● Meet your classmates and their families ● Last week in August-Announced by each school Kindergarten Screening: ● Each school will set up the day/ time & notify families. ● Kindergarten Teacher to assess your child in order to meet the needs of your student. ● This is done during the day in approximately 20 minute intervals.
