DAVIS​ ​MAGNET​ ​TALENT​ ​SHOW​ ​2014  Let​ ​YOUR​ ​Light​ ​Shine!   

REQUIREMENTS:  A  ​signed  permission  slip  with  ​completed  entry​.  ​Permission slips are due in the Davis  Office​ ​by​ ​February​ ​25​ ​at​ ​noon.  

 

A​ ​completed​ ​entry​ ​consists​ ​of: 

 

1. Act  is  to  be  2  minutes  or  under​, ​no exceptions​. We want all of our Davis stars 

 

to  shine,  please  limit  your  act.  If  acts  are  not  2 minutes at the time of audition,  they  will  be  reviewed  once  more  during  the  next  school  week  for  time.  If  over  time​ ​limit,​ ​acts​ ​will​ ​be​ ​ineligible​ ​to​ ​perform. 

2. Acts  that  have  lyrics  (whether  sung  or  danced  to)  ​must  be  accompanied  by  a 

 

lyrics  sheet  complete  with  edits​.  Skits  must  be  submitted  with  a  script.  If  material  is  not  accepted,  requested  changes must be reviewed and edited before  the​ ​act​ ​can​ ​perform. 

3. For  vocal  performances,  background  music  must  be  submitted  before  or  at  the 

   

audition  and  1)  must  be  edited  to  2  minutes  in  length  and  2)  may  NOT contain  lead vocals. A live accompanist is allowed. We will have a piano available. ​NO LIP  SYNCING. 

4. All​ ​multimedia​ ​acts​ ​must​ ​be​ ​edited​ ​and​ ​prepared​ ​by​ ​the​ ​audition​ ​date. 

ENTRY:  The  preferred  method  for  entry  forms,  lyrics  sheets,  and  skits  is  on  line  at  [email protected]​.  Hard  (paper)  copies  will  also  be  accepted  until permission  slips  are  due,  Feb.  25.  Please  do  not  email  links  to  lyrics,  they  will  not  be  accepted.  Lyric  sheets  and  scripts  may  be  submitted  in  either  PDF  or  DOC  format  to  [email protected]​. 

 

All  song  entries  with  backing  music  must  be  edited  for  time  (2  minutes),  and  submitted​ ​in​ ​MP3​ ​format​ ​or​ ​by​ ​CD​ ​on​ ​Tuesday,​ ​February​ ​25​ ​at​ ​12:00​ ​pm.  

 

Signed  permission  slips  must  be  hard  copies,  signed  and  submitted  to  the  office  by  Tuesday,  February  25  at  12:00  pm​.  Acts  cannot  be  reviewed  without  a  signed  permission  slip.  Audition times will be listed next to the office windows on Tuesday by  the  dismissal  bell.  A  copy  will  be  available  on  line,  and  emailed  directly  to  you,  if  an  email  address  is  provided.  If  there  are  multiple  children in the act, a signed permission  slip​ ​is​ ​required​ ​for​ ​every​ ​child.    Auditions  will  begin  on  Wednesday,  February  25  at  1:35  and  Thursday  February  26  at  3:15.
