POWER MANAGEMENT
Nasma’s power management solution includes Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Power Distribution Racks (PDR) and Power Distribution Units (PDU) These equipment provide optimal power distribution and protection from individual IT and telecom products to complex, integrated systems that keep network closets, computer rooms, telecom shelters and data centers up and running. We partner with leading vendors such as Delta Power Systems and Ampole to provide clean and stable power while ensuring continuous operation in case of power failure as well as enabling maximum operating efficiency with the lowest cost. Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) Our UPS range of products include low-power single phase (10 kVA or less) all the way to integrated/modular high-capacity 3-phase systems (up to 3200 kVA). These solutions feature industry leading performance of up to 96 % AC-AC efficiency, input power factor > 0.99, output power factor of 0.9 and low iTHD <3%.

POWER MANAGEMENT Power Distribution Units (PDU) Nasma’s selection of Managed, Metered, Switched and requires no tools, and while mounting brackets are provided to facilitate the installation in third-party rack cabinet. Both Rittal and Delta Power Systems units conserve valuable rack space, thanks to the Zero-U installation approach. Each PDU model allows either single or three phase input voltage. to keep them functioning at optimal levels, and integrate with DCIM software. DATA CENTER CABLING Optical Fiber and High-speed Copper Cabling Systems Often overlooked in many data center and SAN projects, the cabling inside the data center is a critical component in the successful delivery, operation and maintenance of the IT systems. In particular scalability, moves, adds and changes (MACs), availability of key product information and the ability to get the product in the shortest possible time is critical. Our partners, Corning Cable Systems are market leaders in this field. Corning pre-terminated optical fiber and high-speed copper (Cat 6A and above) cabling systems designed to dramatically streamline the process of deploying an optical / high-speed copper networking infrastructure in the data center. This innovative, value-added system significantly reduces installation time and cost. Modular, pre-terminated components of the system are simple to configure and can be installed, connected and operational in a fraction of the time when compared to using conventional, field-terminated methods. The system’s polarity-maintaining modular components guarantee compatibility, flexibility and excellent system performance for all optical configurations. The universal wired modular components make networking moves, adds and changes simple, fast and easy to complete with minimum disruption to neighboring areas.
Nasma Installation Practice Nasma Data Center team’s experience in the IT field stretches back to the days of coax and twinax cables and has thus acquired, over the years, proper data cabling installation practice in accordance with industry standards and local regulations. Environment Monitoring Nasma’s Data Center portfolio is not complete without environment monitoring and alarm system that is flexible and support complete features of environment monitoring and security management concept for preventive protection and to guard against follow-on costs. At the same time, it offers consolidation point for connecting to facility management. SAFETY & PROTECTION SYSTEMS Fires are a serious risk to businesses. Cable-rack and equipment fires could significantly impact communications and result in failure to deliver basic services to customers, ultimately slashing revenues, and cause immeasurable negative impact on consumer confidence. Due to the density of computer equipment and data in a computer room, the degree of potential damage that could occur from both a fire and conventional fire-extinguishing systems is unacceptable. Nasma has therefore carefully selected our product range and parters for Safety and Protection Systems, covering simple fire suppression to sophisticated fire prevention systems. Fire Suppression Nasma’s fire suppression solutions are designed on a fixed pipe and nozzle arrangement using a pre-engineered concept, providing protection for Class A, B and C type fires. NOVEC 1230 System - designed to extinguish fires involving flammable liquids, gases and electrical equipment. NOVEC 1230 extinguishes fires by a combination of physical and chemical means. It does not significantly deplete the oxygen content in the room and tests have shown it to be less toxic than Halon 1301. FM200 System is another Halon 1301 replacement agent with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) suitable for total flooding. Clean Agent HFC227ea System is an effective total flooding agent suitable for use on Class A surface burning fires, Class B flammable liquid fires and fires on electrical equipment. On a weight of agent basis FM200 System is a very effective gaseous extinguishing agent. The FM200 System extinguishing concentration for normal heptane (cup burner method) is approximately 5.8% by volume. The minimum design concentration for total flooding applications is 7% in accordance with NFPA 2001. Fire Prevention – preventing the ignition process FirePASS® (Fire Prevention And Suppression System) fire-preventative normobaric hypoxic environment provides the ultimate solution for the fire safety problem in computer rooms. FirePASS® by providing effluent ventilation of the protected facility with hypoxic (oxygendepleted) air produced by FirePASS® generators from ambient air. This creates a comfortable human-breathable atmosphere inside a facility, in which nothing can ignite or burn. This environment corresponds in partial pressure of oxygen to the altitude of 9,000’, is completely safe for people. This environment can be used as an alternative, which enhances the conventional fire-safety means without interfering with their performance, or even providing synergistic fire-safety effect. There is no need to remove an existing sprinkler system from your premises, simply because it will never be activated. Physically preventing the ignition process, the FirePASS® reduces risk of fire (as well as the fire-extinguishment related damage risk) virtually to zero.

CUSTOM / SPECIAL APPLICATIONS Nasma extends this site preparation, power management and power generation expertise to specific applications including containerized data centers, mobile data centers, telecom shelters and tower compounds. Mobile / Containerized Data Center The Rittal Data Centre Container DCC has been developed specifically for outdoor IT system operations. The perfect temporary data centre to bridge the duration of alterations, expansion measures or relocation, but no less ideally suitable as a permanent IT or server room. The absolute highlight is the innovative direct free cooling, which brings savings of up to 40% on the usual costs for cooling. At the same time, the container guarantees seamless integration of a UPS, fire alarm/extinguisher system, power distribution, raised floor, access control and monitoring functions. Facts & Features Basic-Model: Raised Floor - heavy weight raised floor for climatisation, or routing of data and energy cables usable. Overall height is 300 mm. 19“ TS8-Racks - usage of up to 329 U in 7 Server-Racks possible. Cold Aisle - specific cooling by foreclosure of the cold corridor exists. Telecom Tower Compounds Nasma delivers complete telecom tower compounds, using similar technologies used in data center applications, including site preparation, power management, power generation (diesel and hybrid systems), safety and protection systems, surveillance and access control as well as environment monitoring. Jaime brings with him around 20 years’ experience in the industry, with specialization on Data Centers, Structured Cabling, Outside Plant and Wireless. He was recently involved in major data center projects in Oman, including Royal Oman Police / Ministry of Finance Disaster Recovery Data Center (2009), Ministry of Higher Education, Oman (2010), PTTEP Oman (2010), Petronas Oman (2010), Majlis Oman (2011), Google Oman (2012) and ORPIC Data Center Consolidation (2013). As Data Center IT Consultant, Sabu P is responsible primarily for design and delivery of data center infrastructure solutions, covering compute, storage, virtualization, networking and support systems. He also concurrently holds Assistant Manager – Data Center IT managing project delivery, customer support and day-to-day activities for the division. Sabu brings with him around 15 years’ IT experience out of which 12 years in banking Industry, with specialization on Data Centers , Network and Security, server and Desktop Virtualization and storage. Prior to his appointment with Nasma, he was based in UAE for more than eight years and was associated with RAK Bank as IT Infrastructure Manager. Sabu graduated from Manglore University (India) with an Engineering degree (B.E in E&C). He also holds CCIE in Routing and Switching and CISSP in IT Security domain.

He recently provided technical and commercial consultancy and was a program manager and contract owner for Data Center Upgrade to Tier 3 (TIA-942 Data Center Standards), wireless field communications replacement project IP Telephony, Integrated Management System for NOC (HP Open View), Wireless Spur Links to Gathering Stations, Enhancing performance of Wireless point to multipoint system (WILAN), Enhancing Tetra Mobile performance and Coverage, Fiber Optic Communications System for various links and stations. This also involved endorsing high level designs, tender documents, detailed design, testing plans, and acceptance and handover criteria. Ali won Network Middle East award of “Best Security Implementation” for Data Acquisition and Control Architecture (DACA) project. He was invited as a speaker in some forums and conferences and conducted presentations including Siemens OTN forum (UAE), CISCO Oil and Gas Smart Fields Conference (UAE) and Smart Operations Exchange conference (UK). Ali’s technology experience spans Data Center, UPS, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, 3G, Microwave Communications, TETRA, fiber optic, Power Line Communications (PLC) and PMR network deployments. He is experienced in operating at senior management level, leading major business projects, strategies and initiatives, network deployment, procurement and outsourcing programs. Ali has held a number of interim management roles acting as program manager, Head of IT projects, project manager, operations manager and consultant on a wide variety of assignments and has a track record of successful delivery. Ali graduated with distinction from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) with an electronics and electrical engineering degree. He also earned with commendation an MSc in communications systems and signal processing, Bristol University (UK), and an MBA from University of Strathclyde (UK).

Sadiq Al-Lawati is the Director of Communications Solutions at Nasma. His focus is to help our customers transform their businesses through platform and service offerings that align with their business goals and increase their competitiveness, and to ensure efficient business and technical operations throughout the lifecycle of their initiatives in and around the telecommunications and audio visual communications. He also looks after the day-to-day operation of the company and stands-in as CEO in the absence of the CEO. Sadiq has around 12 years’ experience in the industry, with specialization on wired and wireless networking, security and audio visual solutions. He was previously associated with Gulf Business Machines (GBM) and with National Bank of Oman. Sadiq graduated from Al-Yarmouk University, Irbid (Jordan) with a computer science degree. Sadiq was the first Omani who achieved the prestigious Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in Security since 2008.

Dan Mamaclay is the Director of Data Center, Site & Power at Nasma. Dan has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, delivering complex, integrated multi-vendor IT and Telecom solutions to customers in the Oil & Gas, Defense, Banking & Finance, Government and Service Provider sectors; he has a proven track record in the design of secure converged IT infrastructures covering Enterprise Data Centers, LAN, WAN, Security and Unified Communications (Data, Voice, Video, Mobility and Collaboration). He was recently involved as solutions architect or technical design authority in several key projects in Oman, including British Petroleum Khazzan Drilling Telecommunications (2013), Ministry of Tourism Data Center Migration (2012), National Museum, Oman Data Center & Networking (2012), Majlis Oman Data Center & Networking (2011), Pilot Deployment of Collaborative Work Environment (CWE) at PDO (2010), New HQ Campus Network Design at PDO (2010), Cisco Nexus Deployment for PDO Data Center, including migration (2009), PDO DACA Implementation (2008), and Oman International Bank SNA/IP Network Integration (2007). Dan has been based in Oman since 1999 and was previously associated with Mideast Data Systems (MDS) and with Gulf Business Machines (GBM). Prior to that he spent around ten years in Bahrain on various technical and management roles. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from University of Santo Tomas (Philippines). He also holds Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) since 2000 and DCIS/DCOM form International Data Center Authority, among others.
