DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS: OUR APPROACH TO FAMILY AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Vision
Mission Every student’s success is accelerated by partnerships with families and communities.
The Office of Family and Public Engagement improves outcomes for every student in DC Public Schools by fostering collaborative partnerships between and among schools, families, and the greater DC community.
Student success is the driving force and the greatest indicator of our success as a district. In order to live our mission and meet our vision, DCPS will ensure our work:
Builds and sustains relationships between and among DCPS, families, communities, and partners that increases trust;
Increases access to information, resources, and DCPS leaders and staff;
Increases transparency and provides stakeholders with timely and equitable opportunities to advise on DCPS priorities; and
Builds capacity in schools and Central Office to partner with
families and communities in order to improve student outcomes;
So every DCPS student’s success will be accelerated by partnerships with families and communities.
