From the Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, I can’t believe April is almost over. We had a productive month at IPS with so many great events. The kickoff of the month with the Spring Carnival was wonderful. The event was a great example of our community getting together and supporting our PTO and school. As a leader of this building it is fun to see the community get together in one building and connect with neighbors, relatives, and their children in fun activities. Bluejacket Pride is going strong at IPS. I am so proud of our students, staff, and parents for reinforcing the five character traits. At home, your child may talk about our Bluejacket Pride Tote. This is the visual that we use with our students so they can see when they achieve their goal of filling the tote to the blue line with Bluejacket Pride tickets. These tickets are given out to students for getting “caught” using the character traits throughout the school day and even on the bus. It is great because our whole school is supporting these traits which will lead to great citizenship. We had a blast at our April 14th celebration where we had a funfilled obstacle course and dance party! We are hoping the students are able to earn one more Bluejacket Pride Celebration before the end of the school year. Spring NWEA tests start the first week in May and continue through May 12th. This is a great opportunity for our students to show us how they have grown from fall to spring. Please encourage your child to have breakfast at home or here at school. This really helps our students be more prepared for each day, but especially for them to focus during the tests.
2017-2018 Teacher Requests The opportunity to make teacher requests for next year will happen the week of May 1st. The deadline for accepting teacher request forms is Friday, May 5, 2017.
