UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM OFFICE OF DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMIC DIRECTORATE OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES INVITATION TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION INTO THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN SIGN LANGUAGE AND INTERPRETATION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018 Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to pursue the above certificate programme at the University of Dar es Salaam for the 2017/2018 academic year. Once admitted into the University, successful applicants will be expected to report for studies on 30th November 2017. 1.
Entry Requirements Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) with at least three passes (Grade D and above); total points for three subjects, Kiswahili inclusive, not below 3. OR Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) with at least two passes (Grade D and above) and at least five years of working experience in sign language and interpretation field with Kiswahili proficiency. [Note: Principal level passes in Divinity/Islamic Knowledge are not counted]

Course Duration The course will last for twelve months (including 2 weeks of mid-course breather, 3 weeks of inter- semester break, and one week of final examinations at the end of each semester). The first 9 months (two semesters) will be spent on classroom instructions and the remaining three months will be spent for practical training in public institutions and report writing.

Fees Structure Selected candidates will be required to pay tuition and other University fees by the beginning of the first semester before they can be permitted to use the University facilities. The fee structure is shown hereunder:
