It’s that time of year again. The children are back to school, school buses are on the road and in the subdivision and traffic gets heavier earlier than usual. Then there’s football, practice, dance class, and all the other after school activities
children are involved in. But the most important observation is… summer is almost over!!! Not too many of us are ever ready for this, but we can all agree that we could use some cooler weather right about now.
As everyone is aware, parking on the streets in the subdivision is a violation, some residents have received tickets, fines, warnings and notifications regarding the matter. In addition to this violation being a Brentwood Park / Cameron Creek HOA rule it is also a Marietta violation which really becomes an issue this time of year. This violation puts school children’s safety at risk as the walk around cars illegally parked on the street. It impacts the ability of school buses to turn to safely travel through our subdivision. Keep our community safe and appealing be refraining from parking on the streets, too much conversation has been had over this topic at every HOA member’s meeting. There is a rule, lets just follow it.

Whether we’re looking to stay in our home and just make it nicer. Or fix it up to sell it, these are ways to add value to your existing home, and have it be worth more to you, and to a potential buyer. 1. Update the Home Office. With so many people working from home, offices are becoming a necessity in most homes. Turn an unused den or an old office into an inviting work sanctuary with new windows, a fresh coat of paint and built-in shelving, and you’re sure to reap the rewards. 2. Renovate the master suite. Master suites have begun to be an expected
B RENTWOOD P ARK & C AMERON C REEK HOA C OMMUNITY N EWSLETTER feature. On average, 33 percent of house shoppers are more than likely to buy a home that has recently been renovated. If you can work within the footprint of a house, you’re going to increase your return on investment. When buyers walk into a master suite, they want to see a cozy open space with a really nice closet. Try to squeeze in every bit of storage you can. 3. Add a fireplace. This is a luxury that people want, and it makes your home feel warm and cozy. This is must on most people’s list of wants when they are buying a home. 4. Invest In a Major Kitchen Remodel. Having the same old tired kitchen in a 1978 house is likely to stop a house from selling. If you have the yardage, extend your kitchen into the backyard. Size really matters when it comes to kitchens — the bigger the better! It won’t be cheap, but it will be a great investment. It could be the difference between being able to sell your house or not in a
tighter market. 5. Liven Up the Landscaping. You can add a fire pit, or block out a part of the yard for entertaining, and having friends over. Plant colorful flowers in the front of the house. 6. Finish the basement. This is a sure way to add a lot of value to your home. I know not every home has a basement, but if you do, and it’s unfinished it could double the amount of living space you already have. This is a real selling point for families! 7. Remodel the bathroom. Most importantly is the master bath. Create separate his-and-her areas with separate sinks, or add a skylight to bring in valuable natural light. Updating the tub and tile are is a good idea. 8. Paint your home. Pick a natural neutral color, and paint everywhere the same color. (if you’re trying to sell) This is a like a clean palette that people can start from when they’re picturing buying the house.
My family and I was hanging out at the pool and a dingy cat came up and laid out on the concrete. I have seen the cat in the neighborhood before, but had issues with seeing this dirty cat in the pool area, as I am not sure if he is vaccinated or free of tics and fleas. The appearance of this cat was not welcomed considering the lack of clothing and Hi Kim, I see we have a Social Commit- open food. Can you please contact the owner of the cat? L. tee. I hope that means we can expect some social events on our community. Please keep us posted. K.

MARIETTA FACTS Businessman and politician John Glover arrived in 1848. A popular figure, Glover was elected mayor when the city incorporated in 1852. Another early resident was Dr. Carey Cox, who promoted a "water cure", which developed into a spa that attracted patients to the area. The Cobb County Medical Society recognizes him as the county's first physician.
