Franklin High School Bring Your Own Device Policy BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) refers to a program in which students can use their own personal wireless device to support their learning in school during the instructional day. This includes connecting to the Internet via the school’s wireless network. A personal wireless device is defined as (minimum of a 7” screen) and must be school approved:  

Ipad or Android tablets Netbook and Laptop computers

FHS BYOD Rules & Guidelines 

The use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day is to support student learning and educational activities; personal use is secondary.



The use of personal electronic devices in the classroom is at the discretion of teachers and the school administration.



Personal electronic device use at school must not disrupt the learning of others.



Inappropriate use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day may result in loss of privileges. In extreme circumstances, devices may be subject to search & seizure.



The School District and FHS is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen devices that students use in the BYOD pilot



Access to school WiFi is provided by the FASD Technology Department.



The FASD Technology Department is not responsible for setup, maintenance and repair to personal devices involved in this BYOD pilot.



Failure to abide by this policy may result in loss of BYOD privileges.

Student BYOD Instructions 1. Fill out the BYOD form entirely (front and back with parent signature) 2. Give the BYOD form to a computer technician so that they can review your form and give your device access to the BYOD wireless network.
