A. The name of this organization shall be: "Farmington High School Music Patrons". Article II
Object
A. To stimulate interest in and to promote music in the public schools and the community. B. To assist students in the school music program to achieve their musical goals. C. To develop the resources of the community in support of the school music program. Article III Membership A. Active parents of current music students of Farmington High School. B. Interested friend of music at Farmington High School. C. Administrators, faculty, and staff of Farmington High Schools. Article IV Business A. Business of the organization shall be initiated by the Executive Board or by the membership with the advice and consent of the general membership.
Article V Meetings A. General meetings shall be held at least twice during the school year. B. Monthly meetings are open and usually held on the second Monday of the month. C. Meetings shall be called by the President, pending notification of the membership and approval of the
D. school officials. E. Election of officers shall take place at the spring banquet. F. Yearly reports of officers and committees shall be presented at the May meeting of the school year.
Article VI Elections A. Nominations for office shall be made by the Executive Board at least one month before the election. B. Nominations may be made from the floor. C. To be elected to office, a candidate must be a member of the organization and receive a majority of D. the votes cast.
Article VII Standing Committees A. The following standing committees shall be appointed by the president: 1. Fundraising 2. Publicity
3. Refreshments 4. Banquets 5. Uniforms 6. Band Camp 7. By-Laws 8. Transportation 9. Scholarships and Awards 10. Pit Crew 11. Chaperons Article VIII Officers A. The officers of the organization shall be: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, five (5) Trustees, and three (3) student Trustees.
Article IX Executive Board A. The Executive Board shall be composed of the officers of the club and the music faculty of Farmington High School. B. A quorum for transacting business at the Executive Board meetings shall be a simple majority of the Board. C. All vacancies on the Executive Board shall be filled by appointments of the President. Subject to the approval of the Executive Board. D. Any board member who misses three consecutive meetings will be removed from office.
Article X Amendment A. The constitution may be amended at any regular meeting of the general membership by twothirds majority of the members present.
