List various communication strategies used in your school to provide additional information to parents and to increase parental involvement in supporting classroom instruction. Our School will provide instruction to parents on how to incorporate learning activities into the home environment. These materials are available in the library. PD sessions will be offered to faculty, staff and parents to facilitate and encourage effective communication. The school handbook will offer and instruct guidelines on how parents will resolve parental concerns and district policy will reflect this expectation as well. Each student will have a CAP advisor. This person will assist the parents in understanding Graduation requirements, Academic planning and other scheduling issues. Each year the student handbook will be made available to all parents. This book will contain information on how parents can become involved in their child's education. The book will have a schedule of activities, meetings, PTSO opportunities. There will be a designated parent center near each office and near the college and career room. Parents will be able to access information about many topics. The school and the district will develop and maintain an effect Internet web site that will contain much of the information that a parent can use and assess. The web site will have links that a parent could use such as Teacher links, policy links, curriculum links. 2. List the proposed parent meeting, conferences and activities regularly throughout this year and the dates providing flexible meeting times that you have planned to increase parental involvement and build staff and parent capacity to engage in these types of efforts. (Must include the 2 state mandated parent/teacher conferences each year.) Throughout the year there will be several parent night activities planned. ESL, AP, Open House, PT Conferences, College and Career, CAP Conferences Yearly report, etc... A committee will be formed made up of certified staff from each discipline to coordinate all activities relating to the CAP process. Multiple mediums will be used to notify parents of pending events. Flyer's, Facebook, Twitter, information packets, announcements, website postings, telephone messages, e-mail, radio and TV. Likewise, the PTSO has a communication arm. 3. How will your school provide information to parents about volunteer opportunities (must include state mandated parent training)? The PTSO in conjunction with the school will distribute information to every student regarding PTSO opportunities. With every event held at the school, parent volunteers are used when possible. Information will be made available to parents in the counselors office on how to best assist teachers with projects, assignments and becoming an active participant in the child's education. The parental involvement plan is on the school and district website. STATE REQUIREMENT: These requirements have changed and our PD plan is reflective of the changes. This PD is offered on campus, on-line and at various district level opportunities. 4. How will your school work with parents to create a School-Parent-Compact? N/A Non title school 5. How will your school provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the school wide school improvement plan, and the Annual Title I Meeting to engage them in the decision-making processes regarding the school's Title I, Part A Program? Parents are members of several committees. Handbook, Hiring staff, Curriculum, ASCIP, Transition, Planning and principals council. Parents participate in and develop building policy and procedure throughout the year. In conjunction with the larger groups, parents are participants in smaller committees. IE; Parking, Transition, Lunch and Specific event committees. The school is committed to a climate of parental involvement at every level. Fayetteville High School is not a Title I school 6. How will your school provide resources for parents? The needs assessment will be conducted in the 16-17 school year. This will be our second year with a 9-12 grade configuration. Based on these findings, we will evaluate our 15-16 plan and adjust accordingly. The counseling office has access to many school and community based programs. 7. How will your school engage parents in the evaluation of your parental involvement efforts? Parents will take surveys on different topics and themes. Safety, Transition, Student achievement, Advisory, etc... Parents are invited to virtually every activity, meeting, event, etc... The PTSO will put together the student packets at the beginning of the year. In conjunction with the development of

building policy and procedures, the PTSO aids in the distribution of the materials. 8. How will your school use the parent interest surveys to select, plan and implement parental involvement activities that will be offered throughout the year? Based on the results of the surveys conducted the school administration will work with the parents to implement the suggestions. The PTSO will develop a parent volunteer resource book. A strong emphasis was placed on communication both school to parent and parent to school. Each of these findings were incorporated into our ACSIP plan and the student handbook. 9. When will your school plan the Annual Title I Meeting that must be conducted separately? (It CANNOT be held in conjunction with any other meetings or activities.) This does not apply to Fayetteville High School. We are not a title 1 campus. *After completion of this form, the school should print and submit to district for review and approval. Once approved, the school is required to post their School Parent Plan on their website.
