List various communication strategies used in your school to provide additional information to parents and to increase parental involvement in supporting classroom instruction. *Woodland Junior High has a website offering information about the school and individual classes. *Parents can access student grades using Home Access Center *Parents receive report cards every nine weeks. In addition, progress reports are given midway through each of the nine weeks. *Parents receive test results as that information becomes available. *The school utilizes the school website and social media accounts to disseminate information to parents. *Parent Teacher conferences are offered twice a year. *Students are required to use a planner that has infomation and helpful hints for both parents and students. *The school marquee lists upcoming events. 2. List the proposed parent meeting, conferences and activities regularly throughout this year and the dates providing flexible meeting times that you have planned to increase parental involvement and build staff and parent capacity to engage in these types of efforts. (Must include the 2 state mandated parent/teacher conferences each year.) *Parent Teacher conferences are held twice a year. Both evening and daytime options are available. Parents can request additional meetings at any time. *An Open House is held at the beginning of each year so that parents can meet teachers and be introduced to curriculum. *Parents of children receiving special education services are invited to participate in IEP development annually. In addtion, separate programming conferences are held for these students as needed. 3. How will your school provide information to parents about volunteer opportunities (must include state mandated parent training)? *The State Board of Education's Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools and School Districts shall require no fewer than two (2) hours of professional development for teachers designed to enhance the understand of effective parental involvement strategies. No fewer that three (3) hours of professional development for administrators designed to enhance understanding of effective parent involvement strategies and the importance of administrative leadership in setting expectations and creating a climate conducive to parental participation. *Woodland maintains a list of volunteer opportunities for parents. The PTO also assists in matching volunteers with opportunities. 4. How will your school work with parents to create a School-Parent-Compact? Woodland is not a Title I school 5. How will your school provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the school wide school improvement plan, and the Annual Title I Meeting to engage them in the decision-making processes regarding the school's Title I, Part A Program? *Woodland has an active Parent Teacher Organization that provides communication and resources to to both parents and teachers. The Parental Facilitator is involved in this committee as well as a teacher liason. 6. How will your school provide resources for parents? *Woodland has developed a parent center where parents may check out materials and use a computer to check grades, visit educational web sites, etc. *Woodland has a designated staff member as parental facilitator *The school will distribute Informational packets to parents each year when students pick up their schedules. *Parents receive a copy of the school policy handbook describing procedures for resolving parental concerns. 7. How will your school engage parents in the evaluation of your parental involvement efforts? Woodland is not a Title I school

8. How will your school use the parent interest surveys to select, plan and implement parental involvement activities that will be offered throughout the year? *Career Action Planning meetings take place in the Spring to assist parents and students in course selection and career planning. 9. When will your school plan the Annual Title I Meeting that must be conducted separately? (It CANNOT be held in conjunction with any other meetings or activities.) Woodland is not a Title I school. *After completion of this form, the school should print and submit to district for review and approval. Once approved, the school is required to post their School Parent Plan on their website.
