List various communication strategies used in your school to provide additional information to parents and to increase parental involvement in supporting classroom instruction. The school will distribute a monthly newsletter to parents that is developed by the principal and staff. It includes school news, a calendar of school activities, and parenting tips related to school achievement such as homework tips, organizational skills, and study skills. Teachers will send home weekly newsletters including what they are learning, important school calendar updates, and upcoming events. The school will develop a parent advisory committee composed of parent volunteers. This committee will work to help engage the school community and further parent involvement in the areas of classroom involvement, schoolwide involvement and other needed areas of assistance. Teachers will utilize two-way parent communication through the use of communication folders on a daily or weekly basis. Each teacher will send home a folder containing student papers and work samples each week, as well as important school notes and information. Teachers will routinely contact parents on an individual basis to communicate about their child's progress, both positive and negative in nature. The school will provide to parents mid-term reports in the middle of the quarter with information regarding their child's

academic progress, and final quarterly grades/progress in standards based (K-2) and traditional (3-4) report cards. The school will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences to discuss student academic and behavioral goals and progress two times a year. Once in the fall and once in the spring. The school will hold curriculum nights in both math and literacy to bridge the gap between home and school academically and socially. The school will hold a meet the teacher night prior to the beginning of the year and a curriclum "open house" within the first few weeks of the school year to allow parents time to engage and communicate face to face with their child's teachers. The school will send brochures home with students, post notices in school facilities and post information on social media accounts about parent workshops and meetings. The school will hold an annual Title 1 meeting and invite the public. 2. List the proposed parent meeting, conferences and activities regularly throughout this year and the dates providing flexible meeting times that you have planned to increase parental involvement and build staff and parent capacity to engage in these types of efforts. (Must include the 2 state mandated parent/teacher conferences each year.) The meetings will be held at various times during the day or evening to better accommodate parents. Teachers will hold conferences individually with parents of children in their classrooms at least two times a year. Parents of students in grades 2-4 will be given a summary of the student's test scores and an explanation of the interventions teachers are using to assist the child in reaching achievement goals if necessary. Parents will be asked to engage in discussion of how they can support these efforts. Parents will also be given suggestions for coordinating school-parent efforts and explanations of homework and grading procedures. Monthly RISE awards where parents are invited to attend. (last Friday of each month) We held a Back to School Night/Meet Your Teacher on August 1, 2016 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. A Curriculum night to allow parents to visit their child's classroom(s) and visit with teachers about curriclum, classroom instruction, and student expectations was held on August 11, 2016. Parents were invited to meet with other school staff as well in the cafeteria. We will have a Title I meeting to the Public at 5:30 on October 18th. We will have a parent involvement meeting at 6:00 on October 18th, and the district superintendent is going to share his vision with parents. We held a Family Math night on September 22nd, from 6:00-8:00, parents were invited to experience a variety of teaching methodologies and learning experiences with their children. Math teaching tips for home were provided. Parent Teacher conferences will be held both in the fall and spring semesters. Fall conferences will be held on October 20 from 3:00-6:00 and on October 21 from 8:00-1:00. Spring conferences will be held March 30-31 in the same time frames. A parent involvment meeting will be held prior to the 4th grade musical on September 15th at 6:15 p.m. 3. 6. Administrators and teachers will receive at least 3 hours/2 hours training respectively to enhance understanding of effective parental involvement strategies. 7. Communication folders will be purchased and used to help with 2-way communication between parents and school. 8. Use of agendas by students that are sent home each night for parent review and two-way communication. 4. How will your school work with parents to create a School-Parent-Compact? During parental involvement meetings, a school-parent compact will be created by staff and parents to reflect the school's responsibility to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet the state's student academic achievement standards. The compact will include ways in which parents will be responsible for supporting their children's learning, as well as stating the importance of communication between teachers and parents on an on-going basis. The parents will be shown the compact during the fall parent teacher conferences and will sign it along with the teacher. They will be given a copy and the original will be filed at school.

5. How will your school provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the school wide school improvement plan, and the Annual Title I Meeting to engage them in the decision-making processes regarding the school's Title I, Part A Program? Our school will host an annual community meeting to discuss the Title I program. (October 18, 2016) This meeting will be scheduled during the fall of each school year and will be conducted as a stand-alone meeting. A sign-in sheet will be kept to document attendance. An agenda will be provided that includes: Goals for the program, rights of parents to be involved in the planning, review and revision of parent programs (including the school parental involvement policy) school accreditation, coordination of federal programs, the school's academic performance report, overview of the curriculum along with an explanation of the kinds of assessment used. There will be time for dialogue with our parents and they will be encouraged to ask questions and offer suggestions as they relate to budgeting of all federal monies. Parents will be encouraged to form a partnership with the school. A committee will be formed for the purpose of, annually, revising our school parental involvement policy. 6. How will your school provide resources for parents? Information and Resource Guide for Parents which contains: a summary of the parental involvement plan; recommended roles for students, teachers, parents and school; suggestions of ways parents can become involved in student's education; list of activities planned for the year; information about the sytem that will allow teachers and parents to communicate; process for resolving parental concerns including how to define a problem, whom to approach first, and how to develop solutions. Parent Library which includes books, magazines and other informative material regarding responsible parenting and parents have the opportunity to borrow the materials. Parent Center which will post upcoming events and other parent resources. School designees are in place. Survey for volunteer interest distributed in enrollment packets. 7. How will your school engage parents in the evaluation of your parental involvement efforts? In the Fall of 2016, we will evaluate parental involvement through a survey given to parents at PT Conferences. The results of the parent survey will be evaluated and be reported to staff and discussed for potential needs and/or changes. 8. How will your school use the parent interest surveys to select, plan and implement parental involvement activities that will be offered throughout the year? We will use the information obtained in the parent surveys to determine whether the objectives of the parental involvement plan were achieved and whether events offered were successful. The information collected will be analyzed through meeting of the committee to help determine areas of improvement. 9. When will your school plan the Annual Title I Meeting that must be conducted separately? (It CANNOT be held in conjunction with any other meetings or activities.) The school will conduct an Annual Title I Meeting for all parents on October 18, 2016 5:15 p.m. *After completion of this form, the school should print and submit to district for review and approval. Once approved, the school is required to post their School Parent Plan on their website.
