Mr. Trent’s Classroom Grading Procedures The following procedures only apply to Mr. Trent’s math and science grades for the 2016-2017 school year.
- There are three types of grades: classwork, homework, and tests. - Classwork & homework are weighted as 40% of the overall grade, and tests are weighted 60%.
- I do not take off points for late work, but please hand in your assignments on time so you do not fall behind. Any work not handed in by the last day of the term will earn a 0%.
- Failure to complete both graded and ungraded assignments by the due dates can cause exclusion from some fieldtrips/activities in order to provide time for you to finish the required work.
- All test grades that are below 70% will require a parent signature. Signed tests are to be returned to me the following school day.
- While ungraded, Compass Learning assignments and journal entries are an important part of the curriculum. Please complete them by the due date.
- Few reasons will warrant the ability to redo an assignment or test once it has been graded. Please do your best work the first time you hand it in.
- I do not allow opportunities for extra credit. - Progress reports will be sent home every two weeks. They are to be signed by parents and returned to school the following day. They will include a list of all graded assignments, the grades earned, and an overall average as of the date of the printing. The progress reports may also include important notes from the teacher.
- Please check Powerschool Parent Access regularly for the most up-to-date grades. - Grades will be reviewed at each of the four mandatory parent/teacher/students conferences at the end of each term.
- Report cards will be printed and sent home at the end of each term.
