Agenda Meeting was called to order at 12:01 pm. Motion and second to approve the meeting agenda. No discussion, passed unanimously. Motion and second to approve the minutes from the September 14th, 2016 LEPC Meeting. Passed unanimously. Old Business Emergency Broadcast Plan and MJHMP Update – Chief Hoage reported that the document is complete. The Borough assembly has adopted it and the Ketchikan City Council will review it at their meeting on November 10th. New Business Election of LEPC Officers Steve Rydeen was nominated/seconded for Chair Steve Corporon was nominated/seconded for Vice Chair Dave Owings was nominated/seconded for Secretary Membership present voted to accept all candidates for the 2017 term. Round Table SEAPRO – Conducting a HAZWOPER 8 hour refresher class in Ketchikan on December 9th. U.S. Navy – Working to set up training through FEMA which will take place in late winter/early spring. More to follow. Ketchikan Police Department – New Dispatch center Akeela – Mental Health/First Aid training coming. More to follow. Saxman VPSO – Working with Jay Henry on the CERT program. Greater Ketchikan Local Emergency Planning Committee Meeting Minutes Ports & Harbors – 176 days till the first cruise ship of 2017. Estimate over 1M PAX this year. Have Port planning meetings coming next week. Updates will be published in the paper. Ketchikan School District – No construction this year. The earthquake trailer and KPD/KFD training was well received. The new Fawn Mountain generator will soon be online. ADEC – In town to check status of pre-positioned response containers. Ketchikan General Hospital – Moved 2 clinics into the new building. The rest will be moved by year end. Public Health – Conducted an ICS 300 training course. Would like to set up POD’s and conduct drills. U.S. Coast Guard Base – Participated in POD training and the Shakeout Drill. Lots of preparedness activities underway. North Tongass Fire Department and KVRS – EMT II Class in January. ERR Class in February. Jerry will share the training schedule with the LEPC. They are sticking with the current dispatching system (through AST) rather than using the central dispatch. Meeting adjourned – 12:43 pm
