Student Chapter Society of Petroleum Engineers Hasanuddin University Student Chapter was established on October, 1st 2014 and is one of the professional organizations sponsored by SPE Balikpapan Section supervision. Although our student chapter was quite new we already participated and get achievement in competition in national and international scale This year, we would like to announce we are ready to conduct our primest and biggest event IPEXC 2016 “Integrated Petroleum Exhibition and Competition” with theme “Young Generation as Future Leaders in Petroleum Industry. It is an honor to welcome you all to Makassar. It was would be unfogettable and worth to remember moments during your visit here.

Challenges to Establish a Career in Petroleum Industry : An Expert Sharing The decreasing oil price dramatically has become a big challenges in petroleum industry nowadays. It also influenced many sector including career for freshman. To start a career in this industry becoming hard to achieve. In other hand, knowledge that obtained in the university is not enough to support starting career in petroleum industry. Professionalism, attitude, skill, and organization experience is also needed to to support career in the future.

Case Study

“Formation Evaluation : Unlocking new Reservoir and new Opportunities” The participants will be challenged with case study based on real cases that related to their petrophysical knowledge utilized Interactive Petrophysics software. It will test their analytical skill and logical thinking in term of formation evaluation to solve and develop the best solution for the case with time limit. The final stage is presentation about the interpreted data in the front of professional judges. . (To be confirm)

EVENT Paper Contest

Sutainable Development of Energy Resource to Increase ; Oil and Gas Production Paper contest is a prestigious competition which can recognize the contribution of a paper either directly to the field research through the develompment of methodology through the application of research. This competition serves to showcase and improve the student quality as a new generation of researchers. In additional, this competition aims to increase the students awareness to participate in finding the energy boundaries solution. Trip to Makassar South Sulawesi is a beautiful region, located on the western southern peninsula of Sulawesi Island. The capital city of South Sulawesi is Makassar and also as the biggest city on Sulawesi Island. Tourist attraction in South Sulawesi can be said to complete compared to other regions in Indonesia. Starting from the sea to beach, from the mainland to the montains, you can found many fantastic tourist attraction and the fascinating natural tropical scene. One of icon Makassar is Losari beach which one of the popular lanmark in Indoensia, situated overlooking the sea off. The area beaches are flanked the location is very strategic straits and artificial platforms, buildings, the point sale of traditional food typical in Makassar.

GENERAL RULES Eligibility IPEXC 2016 is open to undergraduate student in invited SPE SC in Asia Pasific. All participants should have SPE ID membership. All participants should be enrolled in their respective universities until the end of the competition is finished. Each Individual may only participate in a single competition.

Communication All presentation, verbal communications, written documentation, and competition will be conducted in English. Question and any additional information regarding the event can be directly asked and informed through social media SPE UNHAS SC.

Changes In Rules Competition rules are subject to change. Any rules change, clarifications, and/or agenda will be announced to all participanting universities before and during the technical meeting before the competition start.

GENERAL RULES Accommodation and Transportation The committee will provide the accommodation and transportation for the participants during the competition in Hasanuddin University. The accommodation will be provided from 17th November until 19th November 2016. Transportation will be provided for all participants within pick up point, hotel, and venue only.

Registration The registration form is available in our website www.spescuh.org Pre-requisite Please bring the following form the IPEXC to complete registration process. a. 1 copy of valid student ID. b. 1 copy of valid SPE member ID. c. PAPER CONTEST General Rules & Regulation The abstract, paper, and presentation should be in English. The paper has never been published before and presented in any competition. The subject of a presentation/paper must be related to petroleum engineering with the competition theme. Only 10 best paper will be selected by the committee to proceed the competition. It consist of 15 minutes for the presentation and 15 minutes for question and answer with the judges. There will be 3 (three) winners based on the judge’s scoring and cannot be contestable.

Abstract Selection Abstract and registration form should be sumitted before 16th september 2016 in .pdf& . docx (doc) to [email protected] with subject : [Abstract_PC2016_AuthorsName_University]. Example : Abstract_PC2016_Albertus Pakalla_Hasanuddin University. Ten (10) best papers ill be selected to proceed tothe competition. PAPER CONTEST Format of the abstract Abstract must be send together with registration form. It should be consist of 350 words and maximum 5 keywords. Written A4 with page margin : left : 3 cm, Right/bottom/Up = 2 cm. Using Times New Roman, 12 font size, spacing = 1.15, In the left top of the page, don’t forget to put the author’s name and your current university. The abstract should: a. State the scope and principle objectives. b. Methods utilized. c. Summarize the results. d. State the principal conclusions. e. Give keyword. Top 10 Best paper will be annoucement on 1st October 2016.

Format of the paper The participants are encouraged to submit a written paper consist of a minimum of 1,000 words of text, as many diagrams and supporting illustration as may be considered necessary to equivalent of tend diagrams, with each diagram considered to be the equivalent of 250 words.

CASE STUDY General Rules & Regulation Each team consists of 3 (three) people. The essay and presentation should be in English. The paper has never been published before and presented in any competition. The subject of essay must be related to petroleum engineering with the competition theme. There will be 2 stages of competition preliminary round and final round. Preliminary round is the team find solution of the given case in the form of essay and final round is the team will give a problem related the theme and find a solution using Interactive Petrophysics software and give a presentation about their solution. Only 10 best essay will be selected by the committee to proceed the competition. It consist of 15 minutes for the presentation and 15 minutes for question and answer with the judges. There will be 3 (three) winners based on the judges’s scoring and cannot be contestable. Essay Selection Essay and registration form should be submitted before 16th september 2016 in .pdf& . docx (doc) to [email protected] with subject : [Essay_CS2016_AuthorsName_University]. Example : Essay_SC2016_Albertus Pakalla_Hasanuddin University. Ten (10) best essay will be selected to proceed to the competition.
