Student Acceptable Use Agreement for the iPad The School are providing the iPad as a learning tool to students. This is a privilege. If you violate any of the User Terms and Conditions named in this policy, privileges may be terminated and disciplinary action could be applied. Students are responsible for using the iPad in a responsible and ethical manner and obeying general school rules concerning behaviour and communication that apply to general computer use. 1) The iPad remains the property of Chiswick School but has been leased through the ‘At Home’ scheme and can be reclaimed at any time if it is felt that the machine is being abused or poorly looked after. 2) All iPads issued by the school must be enrolled onto the school’s Mobile Device Management System. 3) The allocated user accepts responsibility for the physical security of the iPad and therefore must take adequate care and security precautions when using their iPad, for example, students must not leave their iPad in an unlocked room, unsecured overnight at school nor in any car while the car is unoccupied. 4) Failure to demonstrate reasonable care of the iPad could result in a charge being made by the school in the event of its loss/theft. 5) Students will ensure that the iPad is brought to school every day full charged and ready for each lesson. 6) Sound must be muted at all times unless permission is obtained from the teacher for instructional purposes. 7) Music is allowed on the IPad and can be used at the discretion of the teacher and school policies. 8) Games that are not deemed educational are not allowed to be played on the iPad in lessons. 9) Screensavers/Background Photos or inappropriate media may not be used as a screensaver or background photo. Presence of guns, weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, alcohol, drug, gang related symbols or pictures will result in disciplinary actions and possible removal of the machine. 10) The iPad is always to be kept in its protective case. If the case is damaged it should be reported to IT services immediately. 11) No alterations or repairs are to be performed on the iPad.

Students must not: •
Illegal installation or transmission of copyrighted materials
•
Any action that violates existing school policy or public law
•
Sending, accessing, uploading, downloading, or distributing offensive, profane, threatening, pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit materials
•
Spamming-Sending mass or inappropriate emails
•
Gaining access to other student’s accounts, files, and/or data
•
Vandalism (any malicious attempt to harm or destroy hardware, software or data, including, but not limited to, the uploading or creation of computer viruses or computer programs that can infiltrate computer systems and/or damage software components) of school equipment will not be allowed
•
Transmission or accessing materials that are obscene, offensive, threatening or otherwise intended to harass or demean recipients
