STUDENT READMISSION POLICY Columbia College believes in a fair and clear process for all former students applying to return to the College after withdrawal has taken place. This policy provides a readmission procedure to follow. Permission from the Registrar’s office to proceed with the readmission process does not guarantee that the former student will be successful in the admission process. The following process must be followed to be considered for readmission.
Readmission Procedure The College has established the following procedures regarding readmission. student must:

1. Complete a Columbia College application form. 2. Write a letter explaining the following: (a) why the student withdrew or was withdrawn (b) what has changed since the student left (c) why the student thinks he/she should come back to school 3. Attach any documentation (plane tickets, medical letter, etc.) that proves the student is ready to come back to school. These documents should show that the reason/s why the student withdrew or was withdrawn no longer exists. Copies of documents and not originals should be provided to support the letter. 4. Mail this information to: Attention, Registrar’s Office Columbia College 802 Manning Road, SE Calgary, AB T2E 7N8 The student may also drop the information off at Bldg. 802 Administration or fax to (403) 272-3805. 5. The request for readmission will be given to the Readmission Committee for consideration. Once a decision is made, the applicant will be informed of the decision in a letter from the Registrar’s office within thirty (30) days. This decision is final. 6. A former student may not be given permission to proceed with admission based on such factors as the reason for leaving, the successful resolution of that reason, relevance of the documents presented, current readiness of the individual to return to school, previous attendance, previous progress, and behavior concerns.
