Key Passage: The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. [Matthew 13:44] Adult: What would you be willing to “sell,” or do without, in order to achieve your dreams for yourself or your family? Youth: What good thing do you want so much that you would give up something else to get it? Reprinted with permission from Heritage of Faith, Published by Twenty-Third Publications.
Sunday, August 6: Kickball game with High School Youth vs. our Bishop, priests, deacons and seminarians. This event will be her e in San Angelo. Kids, this is a fun event, open for 10th-12th grade students. Let’s have St. Ambrose youth involved this year. I will have a sign-up form at the entrance of Church. The deadline for entries is August 1st. I will have release forms available to anyone who would like to play. Let us show the area what kind of athletes you all are. In addition to the previous Wednesday’s meeting with your kids discussion on the “Narrow Door,” and having such a large turnout, I want to mention that our discussion moved to other topics that effect our youth. Therefore, we will meet on Sunday, August 13th at 6:00 pm and debate Martin Luther and his reasoning for splitting from the Catholic Church with the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. Kids, research and be prepared for pros and cons on his decisions to split from the Catholic Church. I think this is a relevant present-day issue. Let us all be aware of each other’s concerns and needs. Also, remember to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 pm, and let’s keep our farmers in our prayers. God’s peace, ~Deacon Dan Tuesday Morning Bible Study will begin after Labor Day. The group will meet from 8:45-10:00 am in the home of Mary Kay Ripple, and will be studying the Mass. Anyone interested in joining this group should call Mary Kay at 651-7572.
