Dear Prospective Student, Parents, and Guardians, Thank you for your interest in Lenoir County Early College High School. We are excited about the upcoming school year, and we are expecting great things from our new students. Lenoir County Early College is committed to preparing students for work, citizenship, and college. This is a wonderful opportunity for dedicated and hardworking students that are ready to rise to the challenge. Please read through the application thoroughly. It is important that this entire application is completed with the most accurate and current information. Complete applications must include the Early College application and Lenoir Community College application. The application committee will not review incomplete applications. Make sure student’s signature and parent’s signature appear in the correct places on the application. Applications must be submitted to your middle school counselor by March 10th and the completed application packet must be submitted to Early College High School no later than March 17, 2017. Please be sure to meet these deadlines, as late applications will not be reviewed. APPLICATION FOR LENOIR COUNTY EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL ALL PAGES OF THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION Mission Statement: We will prepare students to be college-ready, independent, and skilled citizens through a rigorous, safe, diverse, and student-centered approach to education. Please complete the application according to the following directions: Applications may be obtained from your middle school counselor or by visiting our website at http://schools.lenoir.k12.nc.us/echs/ . Applications must be completed and returned to your middle school counselor by March 10, 2017. We are unable accept any applications after March 17, 2017. Please complete all sections of the application. Please note on page 4, Student Information section, a 500-word essay is required on one of the four topics listed. Also, please note the information at the bottom of the page. If the student agrees to these terms he or she must sign and date the form. On page 5, parents must complete the two questions at the top of the page. Also, please note the information at the bottom of the page. If the parent (s) agrees to these terms he or she must sign and date the form. The student must give page 7 to his or her Language Arts teacher to complete. The teacher must complete and sign the form and return the form to the student in a sealed envelope. The student must give the envelope to the school counselor for inclusion with the student’s application. The student must give page 8 to his or her Mathematics teacher to complete. The teacher must complete and sign the form and return the form to the student in a sealed envelope. The student must give the envelope to the school counselor for inclusion with the student’s application. The student must give page 9 to one other teacher for the teacher to complete. This may be any other teacher the student has during the current academic year. The teacher must complete and sign the form and return the form to the student in a sealed envelope. The student must give the envelope to the school counselor for inclusion with the student’s application. Once the application is complete, including teacher recommendations, return the entire application to your school counselor. The guidance counselor will return the application to the Early College High School. Once the Early College High School has reviewed your application, you may be invited to take the next step and interview with our selection committee. Please note – this process takes time. Please be considerate of the teachers who write the recommendations.
