LEADESHIP DUTY REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS Squad Leaders thru Platoon Sergeant/Leader: Must attend a minimum of 1 board within the first quarter in that position (if passed a previous board prior to assuming position, that meets the requirement). If Cadets do not meet this requirement, they may be subject of removal from the position. Exceptions may be granted by the SAI or AI. 1SG or Company Commander: Cadets must have passed a minimum of 1 board. 1SG’s must attend all NCO boards and CSM meetings. Company Commander’s must attend all Officer Boards and Battalion Commander Meetings. If unable to attend, must have either a PSG or CO XO/PL fill in. Recommend prior coordination. Exceptions may be approved by the SAI for Company Commander and AI for the 1SG. Unexcused absences may result in removal from the position. Primary and Assistant Staff: Highly encouraged to attend a board, but is not required. Primary staff must attend scheduled meetings w/the Battalion XO. Assistant Staff must attend all meetings scheduled by the Primary. Primary Staff must schedule meetings w/their Assistant Staff no later than a week after Battalion Staff Meeting w/the Battalion Executive Officer. Responsible for updating Staff SOP’s by end of Week 2. All Staff must read and initial off on their Respective SOPs by end of Week 3. S1: Responsible for Tri-Weekly Awards and Promotion Ceremonies; Annual Awards Ceremony support S5: Needs to have interest in marketing, social media, photography/videography, newsletter, scrapbooking. Will be responsible for the Battalion Camera to take pictures/videos at notable JROTC events (promotions, awards, ropes, field trips, etc…) Expected to have the primary or an assistant attend JROTC events to photo/video (field trips, meets, parades, etc…). Responsible for posting on Battalion Instagram and Facebook accounts. Responsible to publish a semester Newsletter prior to midterm of 2nd Quarter of the semester. If able, develop a slideshow for annual awards ceremony. Big 4-Highly encouraged/recommended to attend all JROTC activities (field trips, parades, ball, meets, etc…). Exceptions must be approved by the SAI/AI. CSM-Responsible for Football Detail and Service Learning Project; 1SG Meetings, NCO Boards S3-Veteran’s Day and Training Schedules BN XO-Battalion Improvement Plan and Annual Awards Ceremony, Primary Staff Meetings, Staff SOPs BN CDR-Battalion Improvement Plan; Company CDR Meetings, Officer Boards All Leadership positions are expected to “LEAD BY EXAMPLE”. Must attend meetings and wear the uniform properly when required. After three unexcused occurrences, may be subject to removal from the position.
