Primary Purpose: This is a professional position providing a wide range of services to children and their families when the children are at risk of out-of-home placement or hospitalization. Most clinical services will be provided in the children’s homes or in the community to stabilize and strengthen child/family functioning and/or to prevent or forestall placement. Treatment is time-limited. Staff in this position function with a great deal of professional autonomy under the supervision of the program supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Master’s degree in psychology, social work or other related human services field required. 2. Current license/certification in the State of Michigan. 3. At least one year experience with multiple major human service delivery systems (FIA, public health, education, etc.) preferred. 4. At least one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors is required. 5. Knowledge of theory and practice of individual, group, and family systems treatment. 6. Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services, and in brief and time-limited therapy. 7. Development and Implementation of Individualized Plan of Service utilizing Person Centered Planning. 8. Knowledge of theory and practice of individual, group and family systems treatment. 9. Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services, and in brief and time-limited therapy. 10. Must be computer literate. 11. Ability to make critical decisions independent of immediate supervision. 12. Knowledge of community resources and linkages. 13. Ability to effectively, appropriately, and accurately communicate both orally and in writing. 14. Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other staff members. 15. Ability and willingness to abide by all SFS confidentiality policies 16. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. 17. Ability, desire, and motivation to work cooperatively with the program leadership team, as well as, colleagues and all staff. 18. Cultural sensitivity and competence in working with multi-cultural client populations. 19. Must have reliable transportation in order to be able to meet with clients outside of the clinic setting. 20. Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license which is insurable by our insurance carrier. 21. Ability to maintain professional and ethical standards. 22. Ability to work with all members of the community regardless of race, gender, age and cultural or ethnic backgrounds. 23. Ability to work flexible hours as needed (i.e., some evenings or weekend work is required). 24. Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner. 25. Ability to meet productivity expectation as assigned by program supervisor. Maintain clinical charts in an accurate and timely manner to include, but not limited to assessments, treatment plans, and all other MDCH chart requirements. 2. Maintain a caseload size and weekly productivity expectations as determined by supervisor. 3. Provide individual, group, and family treatment. 4. Provide education, consultation, and case management services. 5. Facilitate client access to other service delivery systems, e.g., D.S.S. special education, etc. 6. Assure the coordination and integration of foregoing services with those provided by Starfish Family Services. 7. Make intra-agency referrals for evaluations, consultation, and other services, e.g. parent education. 8. Maintain cooperative working relationships with educational, legal, health, social welfare, and mental health systems. 9. Secure relevant reports from and provides reports to the foregoing system. 10. Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of agency programs. 11. Attend mandatory agency meetings, trainings and supervisions. 12. Participate in professional development activities, including in-service training, peer review, external workshops, and seminars, etc. 13. May participate in special projects, e.g. research, community education, etc. 14. Cooperate in any investigation related to personnel, licensing, accreditation or other circumstances. 15. Work cooperatively as a member of a team with program staff and community resources. 16. Accept and emulate the mission of SFS. 17. Assist in finding and directing clients in case of an emergency such as a fire or tornado 18. Adhere to all Lifespan policies and procedures as it relates to Documentation, Training requirements, CMH guidelines, and Confidentiality. 19. Other duties assigned by site supervisor.
