School Council Minutes ~ Page 2 9/24/2012 Intervention Program ~ Last year the committee worked on the intervention program. The program was initiated on August 13th. It has had a very positive effect. Everyday there is a 20-minute “study hall”. Every 3rd week (on that Thursday and Friday) the “study hall” is flipped to the end of 4th period. The students that have a C or better in every class have 2 days of a longer lunch. We provide a DJ for one of the days, and with Michelle Stewart’s help, we give every student involved an ice cream sandwich. Ms. Jacobs will keep track of what percentages of our students do not have those grades. The Admin Team will be discussing whether students will be able to use electronics during intervention with supervision. Sam Passamonte has identified the students that need help with AIMS. He put together a notebook for the students to use during intervention. PVOnline is included in intervention as well. The Administrative Team is looking at how teachers grade. This may take the remainder of this year and next year as well. The Team is also calling down all students with D/F’s and speaking with them.
