Meeting Minutes-September 12, 2014 The September 12, 2014 meeting of Surprise Lake Middle School ASB Executive Council was called to order at 12:05pm by ASB President Avery Arbon in room 201. In attendance were Mr. Kratzig, Avery Arbon, Dayton Strode, Zoie Breland, Elsa Linden, and Hannah Watson. There were no old minutes to approve at this meeting. There was no old business to address at this meeting. For new business, there were three activity requests to be discussed. The first activity request was submitted by Mr. Darneille on behalf of boy’s baseball for “baseball supplies”. This purchase is to purchase game balls, practice balls, and an L screen. During this time Mr. Kratzig explained that ASB budgets pay for sports yearly costs. We are buying the L screen for a long-time investment out of ASB General. We decided that we need to increase the boy’s baseball budget by $50 at least for next year. The estimated expense was $550, $200 to be deducted from account #2100 and $350 from account #1010. Treasurer Zoie Breland verified that these accounts are sufficient to cover this expense. A motion was made by Elsa Linden to approve this request. The motion was seconded by Zoie Breland. A vote was taken and the motion and activity request were passed. The second activity request was submitted by Mr. Darneille on behalf of girls fastpitch for “Fast pitch supplies” This request is for 12 balls and 2 hitting tees. The estimated expense was $158.34 to be deducted from account #1010. This money is coming from ASB General because no Fast pitch account was set up. Treasurer Zoie Breland verified that this account is sufficient to cover this expense. A motion was made by Dayton Strode to approve this request. The motion was seconded by Zoie Breland. A vote was taken and the motion and activity request were passed. The third activity request was submitted by Mr. Darneille on behalf of 6th grade track for track supplies. This request is to purchase shot puts, relay batons, blank cartridges, and turbo javelins. The estimated expense was $375. $200 is being deducted from account #2185, and $175 is being deducted from account #1010. Again, these will be long-term investments that will not need to be repurchased again next year. Treasurer Zoie Breland verified that this account in sufficient to cover this expense. A motion was made by Dayton Strode. The motion was seconded by Hannah Watson. A vote was taken and the motion and activity request was passed. A motion was made by Elsa Linden to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Zoie Breland. The meeting was adjourned by Avery Arbon at 12:30pm.
