Minutes of the Windham Town Council Nominating Committee Special Meeting Windham Town Hall, 2nd Floor, Bellingham Auditorium Tuesday, April 4, 2017 - 6:45 P.M. 1.

Call to Order. Mayor Eldridge called the Windham Town Council Special Nominating Committee Meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Members present: Mayor Eldridge, Tom DeVivo and Tony Fantoli

Citizens and Delegations: Public Comment. Dennis O’Brien, 120 Bolivia Street Willimantic, liaison of the Town Council for the Senior Center shared his recommendations of Tony Fantoli and Andrew Carey III for the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee.He also spoke in support of Tom DeVivo and asked the Committee to keep a spot open for him. In addition, Mr. O’Brien requested future agendas not be as specific as they are with regards to individual names. James Flores Rodriguez spoke in support of all the individuals named on the agenda and asked that the Committee vote them as a block. Mayor Eldridge noted the Committee could only vote for 3 people therefore they cannot vote as a block. Tony Fantoli stated he appreciates the support of Dennis O’Brien for the nomination however he feels he should abstained from voting.

Approval of Minutes. a. Special Meeting of March 21, 2017. Fantoli MOVED, Eldridge seconded, to approve the Special Meeting Minutes of March 21, 2017. Fantoli and Eldridge were in favor and DeVivo abstained. MOTION PASSED.

Consider Whether to Recommend to the full Town Council the Appointment or Reappointment of the following persons: a. Tony Fantoli, as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. b. Carl Ternullo, as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. c. Andy Carey, as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. d. Robert Greenleaf, as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. e. Victor Rayhall, as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee.

Eldridge MOVED, DeVivo seconded, to recommend to the full Town Council the appointment of Tony Fantoli as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. Eldridge and DeVivo were in favor and Fantoli abstained. MOTION PASSED. DeVivo MOVED, Eldridge seconded, to recommend to the full Town Council the appointment of Andrew Carey III as a Regular Member of the Ad Hoc Senior/Community Center Building Committee. Eldridge and DeVivo were in favor and Fantoli abstained. MOTION PASSED. f.

Discussion and possible action to recommend to the Town Council that future, regular Nominating Committee meetings be held on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:45 pm in the Windham Town Hall Bellingham Auditorium. DeVivo MOVED, Fantoli seconded, that future regular Nominating Committee meetings be held on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:45 pm in the Windham Town Hall Bellingham Auditorium. All were in favor. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
