Board Member roles and responsibilities to attain these goals; Meetings, Requests for Action, Collaborations, CIS’s, Outreach Events, Town Halls Current Strategic Plan on DONE website is from 2015-2016 fiscal year; plan includes goals around events, collaborating with city departments, increasing stakeholder database Possible upcoming events / town halls: spay & neuter + vaccinations for pets (free or subsidized), shredding / e-waste event; homelessness & mental health; emergency preparedness; impact of federal government program/funding cuts; Other concerns: office cleanliness B. Discussion and possible action on co-sponsoring with CD10 April 29th Adams Blvd Clean Up for refreshments and supplies not to exceed $1000 Fischbein moves, Preston seconds. Review of NPG applications and funding requests 1. Baldwin Hills Public Library: NPG application not yet received; letter received from senior librarian requesting support. Formal application expected in the near future. 2. Unite A Nation: program at Dorsey High School; designed to provide goal-setting workshops and professional development program for youth. Board concerns: effectiveness of program after 2015-2016 funding, errors in application (same as application submitted in 2015-2016 fiscal year). 3. Wellington Sq Farmers Market: has not yet submitted an NPG application or any other written communication. 4. The Education Center: NPG application received. Application states that funds are to be used to facilitate 6-hour workshop for WANC board members and 3-4 additional participants; per Meeks, conversation was held that training could be redesigned for stakeholder audience. Preston moves to table until more information is received. Recreation and Parks/ Baldwin Hills and Rancho Cienega: Baldwin Hills – written request received for funding for Baseball/Softball Opening Night, Music Room, Weight Room. Formal NPG Application expected. Vineyard Recreation Center: NPG application received; end date of project is in next fiscal year (2017-2018) and ineligible. LA Drama Club: have not yet submitted NPG application; Meeks will contact applicant and recommend application for approximately $2,000. Fandangobon: has not yet submitted NPG application. Outstanding items requiring follow-up: nuisance motels, dog waste station installation B. Discussion and possible action on the design and purchase of WANC promo yard signs and posters not to exceed $2500 Item was not voted upon at last meeting; stakeholder feedback included increasing durability and/or blank space for upcoming meeting topics. Moved by Simmons, second by Williams: Posters and yard signs (designed by Adam’s wife) + printed, not to exceed $2,500. Motion passes: 9 yes (Meeks, Preston, Hackett, Fischbein, Jett, Williams, Tootla, Jones, Garris), 1 ineligible (Simmons)

The public is requested to fill out a "Speaker Card" to address the Board on any item of the agenda prior to the Board taking action on an item. Comments from the public on Agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the Agenda that is within the Board's subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the Public Comment period.
