WHAT IS A MISSION? A mission is a time to rediscover & truly value our FAITH: our new way of thinking, giving, living, loving, relating, celebrating and forgiving as Christ taught us. It’s a well-planned event to strengthen our Catholic identity; to be grateful for GOD’S LOVING PRESENCE in our lives and in the life of our Faith Community. For some it will be a time to come back to mass, to their Church community where they will be warmly welcome; like a joyful homecoming, they will know that they belong. For most it will be a moving experience of forgiveness, healing & hope based on scripture and tradition as well as discovering the treasure within us all. For all, a Mission is a time to find new purpose & meaning in life; we often get preoccupied with the busyness of life which can push GOD to one side. There has always been a tradition in Catholicism of wandering preachers who visit parishes to encourage people in their Faith. That’s what our Parish Mission in April is all about.
