Kia ora, Talofa Lava, Kia Orana, Malo e Lelei, Fakaalofa Lahi atu, Bula Vinaka, Namaste, Ni Hao, Nei Ho, Selamat, Konnichiwa, Kamusta, Salam, Malo ni & greetings. Welcome to the second last newsletter for the 2016 school year. We are currently working our way through over 300 school reports in preparation for having these sent out next Friday, 9 th December. The reports will provide you with information regarding how your child / children are achieving against the National Standards in reading, writing and maths. They will also provide you with an overview of their year at Carisbrook School. Later on in this newsletter you will see photographs of two of our futsal teams that participated in the Edgar Centre competition this term. Both these teams have had great success this season and won their competitions. The teams that took out the trophies were our Year 3-4 team and our Year 7-8 team. Both teams had also been complimented on their positive attitude and fair play. Our final school assembly is at 1:00pm on Friday 9 th of December and will be held in the School Hall. At this assembly the school acknowledges our senior students, the year eight students who will be moving onto their secondary education for 2017. Many of these students have been with us since Carisbrook School opened in 2012. There will be Principal awards presented to two students from each class. Identifying which two students is an extremely difficult task for the classroom teachers as many of their students have excelled this year. Classes for 2017 As part of our annual planning process we have reviewed our classes for 2017. Thanks to all those parents who fed into the process by letting us know of new starters for next year. As a result, all teaching will be offered at the Carisbrook Main site next year.
Resilient Responsible Respectful
Our planning showed we would only have had a starting role of 29 at the Heights site for next year (down from 63 when the school merged in 2012). We want to provide all students with improved access to a wider peer network, learning resources, pastoral and teaching support and facilities to continue to lift their educational experience, wellbeing and achievement. The Board believes this will be better achieved for all students at the Carisbrook Main site. Support will be offered for students transiting down to the main site, including daily transport from the Heights site to the Main site and back. We will be in touch before the end of the school year to advise all students and their parents of intended classes for 2017. Final accounts will be sent out next week and we ask that parents and caregivers pay these immediately. It is important that all accounts are cleared by the end of this school year. Payments can be made online or by cash or eftpos at our school office. Regards Ben Sincock Principal
