Help of Chennai flood sufferers

In December first week there was heavy rain in Chennai (South India). The rain break the record of last 100 years. Thousand of people suffered with it. A big rescue operation was run by government. Feeling our social responsibility, like every time, this time also our staff and students took a mission namely

This year in May-June 2015 Secratery of DSWS Mr. Sanjay Bansal visited the Belgium and Netherland. There he was warmly welcomed by Opus III and friends. He got the opportunity to visit many schools, college and other organizations in Belgium and Netherlads.

During this period he also attended a big festival “Indian Streed Food Festival” organized for fundrasing for project in ZUTENDAAL, Belgium. It was wonderful. The visit was very sucessful in terms of project. Always the visits of office bearers of both organizations gives new energy to staff. We would like to thank everybody who devoted their time to make this visit possible and sucessful..

Education: DPS and FCS Schools  In Rajasthan two patterns of education are in practice. First is Hindi medium (based on Hindi language) second one is English medium (Based on English language). The school session for English medium schools is from April to March every year. In Hindi medium schools it was from July to June. This year government planned to make Hindi medium schools session also like English medium i.e. April to March. In follow up of this policy, first time new school session in Hindi medium schools, started from 26th June and will complete in end of March. Therefore the next school session 2016-17 in Hindi medium schools will be same like English medium schools.  From this year onwards, the students of class 8th also has to participate in Board examination. (national examination like 10th & 12th Class) Therefore there is little bit pressure of study on these students but I hope they will handle it. Last year it was optional but from this year its compulsory for all students. FCS1 :- This year school has been upgraded up to 6th class. As no any student was transferred to DPS like previous years. So now the strength of school his higher then last years. In this summer vacation we have to build a new floor on opus III house for extra classes as there will be 7th class also in session 2016-17. To Build a new floor was decided during the Belgium visit of Mr. Sanjay.

Glimpses of activities in schools ;

FCS2 :- The new building has been complete and children have much better place for study. They are happy. Their presence is also good. Last year two Belgium students from PXL started a programme “Grow with play” Children liked it. It helped to bring the children school on regular basis. FCS3 :- This school is struggling from last of couple of year with poor infrastructure. This year an extra “teen Shade” was build to keep sun out. Also cooling system was arrange to keep rooms bit cooler but still there is problem of transportation. Most of the children are coming from 3-4 KM and they have to pay for transport. Which is bit expensive for them. This year in Feb. Mr. Jan & Riet is on visit of project. During their visit a material decision has to be taken about this school.

Play ground activities

FCS4 :- The school is running very well. The response of community is also very good about school. In November a group of Students from Netherland visited to school with Ella. They spend some time in school with children and did some BLOCK PRINTING and painting on T-Shirts. It was interesting the both Indian and Netherlands students. The only thing we have to think about the land of school. The school is running in a rented premises. The owner is demanding higher rent. DPS :- As the transfer system from FCS to DPS has been stopped, therefore this year only 167 students are imparting education with help of Opus III. Out of 167 students, 87 are girls (approx. 52%).

Request :- Kindly don’t send personal gifts for your foster child, as it is not good for other children, also many times it lost in the post.
