Ottawa - The Ottawa Catholic School Board has returned Elaine McMahon as Chairperson and Betty-Ann Kealey as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. The elections took place at the Board’s Annual General Meeting held Tuesday evening at the Catholic Education Centre. Chairperson McMahon said, “Our Board will remain commited to ending poverty in our schools. We strive to ensure our schools remain safe and happy places where we profess and live the Gospel values.” Chairperson McMahon is the Trustee for Zone 6 – Knoxdale-Merivale/College. Vice-Chairperson Kealey is the Trustee for Zone 7 – Kitchissippi/Bay. Director of Education Denise Andre presented the 2015 Director’s Annual Report that highlights some of the accomplishments of the Board over the past year. The report stresses success for students, success for staff and responsible stewardship of resources. The Director’s Annual Report is a website available at http://annualreport.ocsb.ca/. Ms. Andre thanked the trustees for their support in her first year as Director and wished all staff, parents and partners blessings during the Holy Year ahead.
