May 24, 2018 Dear parents: We are very excited to be offering our outdoor school program to sixth grade students again this fall. We will be going to the Cispus Learning Center near Randle, Washington on Monday, September 17. We leave from the community center at 8 a.m. We will be returning on Friday, September 21 around 2 p.m.. The program has two goals. The majority of field study is devoted to the study of ecosystems and human interaction with the environment. Students also participate in the Cispus Challenge Course with a group of their peers. The challenge course experience serves to make students more aware of group dynamics and provides an intensive and rewarding introduction to middle school life. We are asking parent to register their child for Cispus this spring, before school ends. Simply turn in the attached permission slip and health history form. The fee, $125, will be collected in the fall. The deadline for all forms and the required fee is Monday, September 10. We will also be doing intake on prescription medications for students that need them the week of Sept.10 as well. Staff for Cispus is being recruited now. We are looking for a number of adult and high school/college volunteers. If you know someone who can spend the week with us, please contact the middle school or go to the web page below.
