SkillsUSA Students Announce Patriots Field Fundraiser Jefferson-Lewis BOCES and SkillsUSA students at the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center in Glenfield are pleased to announce the inaugural Patriots Field “Full of American Spirit” project, with a public ceremony planned for Thursday, May 25th, 2017 outside the technical center on State Rt. 12. The project will involve approximately 250 American flags on display from May 25th through May 29th. The row of flags will resemble the positioning of tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery. Local businesses, groups, and individuals are being asked to sponsor a flag. The cost for sponsorship is $25.00/flag with the sponsor given the opportunity to attach a personal note to their flag in memory or in honor of a service or family member. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this effort will be donated to Feed our Vets. Those wishing to sponsor a flag can make a donation online through PayPal. A link is available on the main page of www.boces.com. The public ceremony to unveil Patriots Field will be held Thursday night, May 25th from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided. Organizing the event are SkillsUSA students from Glenfield; Hope Cooley (senior, Lowville Academy), Brianna Lawrence (senior, South Lewis), and Josie Wood (senior, South Lewis). All 1

three are in the Cosmetology program at the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center. The group will be using their project to compete in the American Spirit competition at the New York State SkillsUSA Conference in Syracuse this April.
