About your organisation Effective Altruism Australia is a Public Benevolent Institution that exists to reduce poverty, distress and suffering. We do this by identifying organisations that are working effectively to reduce poverty and improve human health, and then fundraising to grant money to these organisations to support their work. We are inspired by the philosophy and social movement, Effective Altruism, which encourages thinking critically about the best way to bring about positive change. Whilst the ideas of Effective Altruism can apply to many different cause areas, our focus is on using these ideas towards effectively alleviating human poverty and suffering through financially supporting organisations implementing evidence-based programs. Effective Altruism Australia is run by a volunteer team who communicate online. Applications are welcomed from people based anywhere in Australia, and from people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations and political/religious beliefs.
Tasks and responsibilities ● ● ●
Produce an evidence-based proposal for fundraising initiatives Work in partnership with other volunteer team members to implement chosen fundraising initiatives Be open to assisting with administrative and other tasks outside of fundraising duties as these arise.

5 to 8 hours per fortnight Attendance at monthly online team meetings Availability for fortnightly phone meetings with Team Manager
