Island Paradise This theme will revolve around a n Island theme. All students are expected to wear formal attire. There will be some new additions to the THS Prom tradition that we hope will be a fun and enjoyable experience for all.
1. Do I need a permission slip? All non-THS students will need a signed permission slip on file. You can get these from the office at either school. They must be returned to Mrs. Ivey-Jackson no later than the last school day in March.
Dress Code Requirements: All gentlemen should wear a tuxedo or a suit. When picking out the dress of your dreams, ladies should be mindful of a few things.
2. Is there anyone that will not be allowed to come? Any middle school student or anyone over 21 and anyone who is not allowed on the THS campus or at a THS sponsored activity will also not be allowed at Prom.
3. When can I pay dues? Dues can be paid to Mrs. IveyJackson at the Scholars Academy, room 207S at anytime between now and the last school day of March. Dues can be paid at the beginning of 3rd period in the THS cafeteria on Weds. beginning in February and until the last Thursday in March.
Your dress should fit your body but should not be too tight. Strapless dresses are acceptable but should not contain a plunging neckline. Backless dresses are acceptable but should cover any and all body parts that would otherwise be covered by under garments. Short dresses and dresses with a leg split are allowed, but should cover to the mid thigh. Two piece dresses will only be allowed if there is no midriff skin showing. If you have dress code questions, please see Mrs. Rollins at THS or Mrs. IveyJackson at Scholars. If in doubt, don’t wear it.

Dues Information: 1. How much are dues? Prom dues are $50, cash or check.
2. Who pays? All juniors in attendance will pay. If a senior paid as a junior, they do not pay their senior year.
3. Does your date have to pay anything? If your date is from another school, or they are a THS 9th or 10th grade student, or they are a senior who paid as a junior, they do not pay to attend as they are your guest. However, if your date is a THS junior, they will have to pay.
4. When is the last day to pay dues? All dues must be received no later than the last school day in March.
Prom King and Queen: 1. Who can run for Prom King and Queen? Any THS or Scholars Academy senior in good standing may run for Prom King or Queen.
2. How are the King and Queen chosen? All THS students will be given a ballot upon entering the Prom to vote for the King and Queen.
