Exhaust Tip Fitting Instructions These exhaust tips are not connected to the cars exhaust system but are bolted directly to the rear cross member. This kit is compatible with cars that do or don’t have a tow bar fitted. Tools needed – Open ended 24mm Spanner Step 1 – Open pack & check contents Left Exhaust Tip x 1 Right Exhaust Tip x 1 M16 Coach Bolts x 2 M16 Square Washer x 2 M16 Lock Nut x 2 . Step 2 – Take the right hand exhaust tip (which is shown on the left in the picture above) and place the coach bolt through the slotted hole so that the square part of the head is engaged with the slotted hole.

Step 3 – Position one of the square washers inside the rear cross member so that the hole in the washer is in the centre of the hole at the right hand end of the rear chassis member.

Step 4 – Now take the exhaust tip with coach bolt inserted (assembled in step 2 ) and pass the bolt through the rear cross member hole and through the hole in the square washer. Take the 16mm locknut and put the nut over the exposed thread of the coach bolt and tighten with a 24mm ( 15/16th inch ) spanner. Note you will need an open ended spanner as you cannot get a socket into the area above the rear cross member. Step 5 – Before final tightening you can adjust the angle of the exhaust and also the position by sliding the exhaust in the slotted mounting hole. Fully tighten the nut and ensure that the exhaust trim is secure. Step 6 – The left hand side cross member is at a different height if there is no tow bar fitted and so the spacer block will need to be inserted between the chassis and the slotted mounting bracket on the exhaust trim. The pictures below show the order the parts should be assembled in with and without a towbar. Note that the spacer block has 2 raised edges that fit either side of the slotted bracket to keep the spacer located.

Optional Step - To get the optimum visual effect the slotted exhaust mounting bracket can be painted with black paint to make it appear as part of the chassis. Care & Maintenance - Periodically check the exhaust tips to ensure they are securely mounted and re-tighten if required. Cleaning - As the exhausts are stainless steel they will not rust.
