These instructions are a guide to how to fit the Powerful UK rear conversion panels to the Range Rover P38. Rear Light Conversion Step 1 – Open the tailgate and remove the access panel on the boot area to gain access to the rear of the lights. Using a 10mm socket remove the 4 bolts holding the rear lamps in place. Remove the electrical connector and remove the rear light unit. Do this for the other side also. Step 2 – Take one of the blanking panels ( flat rectangular panel with 4 holes ) noting that the 2 blank panels are sided ( one is for left side and one for right side ). Check that the holes line up with the holes in the bodywork and fix the blanking panel into place with the short M6 bolts provided. There is a small tube of silicone provided to add some sealer between the blank panel and the bodywork to prevent water ingress. Do this for both sides. Step 3 – Now take the rear light moldings ( you need to paint these first ) and hold in position. Pass the long M6 coach bolts provided through the holes in the centre of the light moldings into the corresponding holes in the blanking panels. Fit the M6 nuts and washers provided so the rear moldings are secure. Step 4 – Take the new round red light unit and ensure it has bulb fitted to the bulb holder ( clear bulb with 2 contacts on base ). Fit the bulb holder to the base of the lamp and offer the lamp unit into the rear light molding on the car ( the red light unit goes into the lower recess on the molding ). Mark on the blanking plate where you need to drill to fit the wires through and drill a hole. Fit the light unit into the molding and secure with the 2 small self tapping screws provided. Now repeat for the other side red light. Step 5 – Now fit the clear lights ( indicator ) these are supplied with chrome bulbs that flash orange when powered up. Step 6 – Connect the wiring of the lights to the car wiring using the table on the next page.

Tailgate Conversion Panel Step 1 – remove the light clusters from the tailgate by removing the nut from the inside of the tailgate. Also remove the number plate and any associated frame. Also remove any badges that are in the area where the panel bonds onto the tailgate. Step 2 – Fit the reversing lights ( not supplied ) to the panel – you may need to adjust the openings slightly. The part numbers for the L322 type reversing lights from Landrover are LEFT XFD000053 and RIGHT XFD000043. You will need to cut the location pin on the rear of the reversing lights as it is too long and will touch the tailgate. When you are happy with the fit of the lights remove them so the panel is ready for bonding and painting. Step 3 – Offer the new panel up to the tailgate and ensure it fits correctly. When you are happy with the position apply some PU ( Tigerseal or similar ) adhesive to the areas where the panel is in contact with the tailgate and then bond the panel to the tailgate. Step 4 – After the adhesive has cured the jointing edges can be filled and the panel can be painted. You may choose to remove the tailgate release button before painting. Step 5 – Refit the reversing lights and the number plate and fit any new badges required. Step 6 – Connect the reversing light up to wires in the tailgate. Step 7 – This kit has no provision for a fog light so an external fog lamp will need to be fitted as shown in the wiring diagram at the top of this page.
