Charity – Unity – Fraternity – Patriotism Live your Faith!

Brothers, Congratulations to our newest Brother Knight, Larry Penta, from St. Agnes. Larry made his first degree in Andover on April 11th. On May 17th we will hold our Awards Ceremony night (also known as Old Timers Night). The ceremony will be preceded with dinner and a social starting at 6pm. This is our opportunity to recognize and thank fellow Knights who have been members for 25 and 50 years. Please come and show your support and enjoy a fun evening. There is a sign up on our home page for all interested, hope to see you there. June is right around the corner which means it is time to come out and support our Charity Drive to be held June 3rd and June 4th. This is a critical fundraising effort for us.  50% of our proceeds will go to the Food Pantry and the other 50% comes to our Council to support our charity outreach efforts.  The first twenty people to sign up for two hours of time will be given K of C hats (guaranteed to make you look 10 years younger!!).   If you are looking to get more involved in our council, it will soon be time to get a new slate of officers for our next fraternal year which begins on July 1. Please consider running for a position. Positions up for election are Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight, Chancellor, Warden, Recorder, Treasurer, Advocate, Inside Guard and Outside Guard. More information on nominations to follow in next month’s newsletter. Your support is needed to maintain an energetic council. Let me know if you can serve as a Council Officer. In Christ, Tom Cappuccio, Grand Knight

A GOOD KNIGHT THOUGHT_________________________________________________________________ PENTECOST 2016 As we prepare for the feast of Pentecost—the coming of the Holy Spirit—do we actually realize that the same Holy Spirit, that so changed the lives of the Apostles and Disciples on that day—lives in us…watches over us…and guides us throughout our lives? It is sad, but we probably never even address a single word—not a single tiny prayer to the Divine Spirit. We seem to be utterly ignorant of the Spirit in our souls, though without it we can do nothing. To become more aware of the Spirit’s presence, trace a simple sign of the cross (perhaps several times throughout our day) on our chest, or on the table in front of us, or on the book we’re reading—and then say: In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit—saying Holy Spirit with greater emphasis—acknowledging to ourselves just what we are truly saying. Then add a short prayer, something expressing our needs, such as: ―Holy Spirit, God of Light, really and truly in my soul, give me your light, that I may see all things more clearly.‖ OR ―Holy Spirit, God of Joy and Consolation, really and truly in my soul, fill me with your joy and consolation.‖ ________________________________________________________________DEACON NEIL
