Dear Parent/Guardian,

Student Planners All students were given a student planner at the beginning of this academic year and have been expected to bring it into school each day, using them in every lesson. The purpose of the Student Planner is threefold: 1. To record all homework and independent learning tasks given to students, across all subjects. 2. To support learning and communication between home and school. To allow parents to check the homework planner each week to ensure that work has been recorded, completed and submitted. Parents then need to sign the planner each week. Tutors will undertake a weekly check. 3. To use as reference material to help the student learn (the planner contains useful information). We view this as an essential item to support learning and progress and for this reason, identified its necessity, as part of the Home School agreement. Parents are asked to sign the planner each week and this is then shared with the form tutor, when checking. ________ seems to have misplaced their planner and, despite reminders, has not sought a replacement. January is the ideal time to rectify the situation. A new planner will be issued via the Form Tutor. The expectation is that is it not only brought into school every day but used to record homework / key notes and used a communication loop between parent and Tutor. Please use this an opportunity to monitor their time management, development of keys skills and open the dialogue needed to secure the best possible progress for your child.
