PROFESSIONAL START-UP (YEAR – present) Co-founder & CEO Built business from start up to establish a 2,000-strong (to date) active user base through effective business planning, strategy and digital marketing. Established a scalable business model based on affiliate marketing that has already started monetising. Initiated relationships with various wine merchants such as NAME and NAME to promote wine offers to users. Forged a partnership with NAME, a chain of wine bars in LOCATION, to host numerous wine tastings in Q4 YEAR. Introduced a Restaurants feature to the app based on the results of a user insight survey, paving the way for partnerships with restaurants and chains in the LOCATION. Two months prior to launch, without an MVP, I on boarded 10+ event hosts with many more indicating interest in participation. Pioneered the social enterprise angle of the business by creating a separate pricing structure for registered charities in the LOCATION. Overall ownership of all non-tech elements of START-UP, including strategy, business development, partnerships, marketing and content creation. Fidelity International (YEAR – YEAR) Sales & Marketing Associate I spent my first six months working within the key accounts sales team of NAME, the third party fund distribution platform. My responsibilities included the establishment of a bespoke MI suite that sales managers used to strengthen client relationships; the implementation of a CRM system which was championed by senior executives and is still used today; strategic reviews; enhancing the customer experience via the Net Promoter Score metric. My next role was evenly split between occupational pensions (DC) marketing and UK business strategy. Notable achievements include the production, in my first two months, of a tri-annual magazine which was mailed to 118,000 clients and the creation of a technical pension newsletter distributed to 400 high- profile employers. I worked as project manager on a high profile internal strategy re-launch in LOCATION, LOCATION and LOCATION whereby I was responsible for formulating content, logistics, agency relationships, budgetary planning & internal stakeholder engagement. The third role I held was within the LOCATION mutual funds business, taking complete ownership of digital marketing. This included formulating and executing online broadcasting, social media, and targeted emails (each email to approx. 20,000 clients and warm leads). I also led two key regional events, each bringing 150 ‘key account’ clients together with six top fund managers. I also managed the ‘Outlook YEAR’ campaign, requiring investment knowledge, cross-business collaboration and content creation. Finally, I pioneered the launch of an extensive evaluation piece covering marketing effectiveness and client segmentation; my results ultimately changed the scope of marketing activities and I left a legacy of campaign evaluation and data collection. Citigroup, Global Markets (Summer YEAR) Summer Analyst I rotated on two desks - High Yield Credit Sales and FX Investor Sales - gaining a greater understanding of both asset classes and different client types. Daily business-as-usual tasks included preparing and distributing timely morning reports of market information, attending morning calls & circulating traders’ buy/sell axis, presenting FX/credit trade ideas, shadowing and research projects (e.g. the growth of FX reserves held by SWFs around the world). FASHION BRAND (part time throughout YEAR – YEAR) Business Development Intern Gained distribution experience in high-end fashion wholesaling through assisting at leading trade shows in Miami, Paris and London. Roles included liaising with established clients; executing sales; attracting new buyers; and marketing the brand to journalists. ONLINE ADVERTISING COMPANY (Month, YEAR) SEO Intern I completed a detailed statistical analysis of the click-through rate of prior and current advertisements on Google; I used this evaluation to create new advertisements for the client – all of which were approved without modification. The experience was an insightful introduction to digital marketing.
